What say you?

Or is it mostly an excuse? If we are in the Asterisk Era, what achievements are the most asterisked?

Well apparently Djokovic's W 19/21/22 , AO 20/21/23 titles are inflation titles. The criteria was not high enough level or not tough enough draw.

It's the copium era. :sneaky:

Many former players, commentators, experts say we are in an exciting era
with Federer himself even saying we are in a "golden era".

Only the level should matter.

If you haven't played tennis at a pro level you can't call it that.
True. Luckily we have pros such as Verdasco and Davydenko saying it's the weakest era of all time, so there's no need for speculation.... it's the truth

It’s the hyperinflation era. The Casper Ruud 2 time grand slam finalist era. The injured 35 year old era. The Cameron Norrie era. The “lowest adjusted points for number 1 ever” era. The PCB M1000 champion era. The “I was pretty happy with how I played today” era. The injury bloodbath era. The Kyrgios slam finalist era. The losing to someone with an ab injury era. The “let’s suck Alcaraz’s **** for doing a regular S&V” era. The Frances Tiafoe era. The banning players era. The pickleball era.

There was a time when Arnaud Clement, Rainer Schuttler, Thomas Johansson, Nalbandian, Verkerk, Philippoussis, Gaudio, Puerta, Bagdhatis & Gonzales made Grand slam finals. That era also ended when Big 3 & Sir Andre started to make GS Finals, so this era too will end, Alcaraz, Rune, Sinner will end it in a few years, till then bear with the beta males like Ruud making slam finals.

Every professional tennis player is an alpha male compared to us betas on here who spend our time analyzing them and posting about them… lol

We are not professional tennis players. we discuss players like we discuss movie stars or like we discuss politics, if we were playing a hands on role and then playing second fiddle then we would be beta, so no none of us are betas. If I was as skilled as Ruud then I would never praise Nadal, I would never be in awe of him, I would look at him as an obstacle who has to be defeated at all cost, even after losing french open final I would never smile, I would look at Rafa as if next time I am gonna get you. So our attitude at whatever level we operate is different from Ruud, lol. So I disagree. I would never call Rune a beta, his attitude is of alpha for his age, not Ruud's. Even Kyrgios has a sycophant (of Novak) type attitude now, his killer attitude of 2010s is gone. I like Tiafoe's attitude.

I don’t know if I’d call it the “asterisk era”, but Novak’s vaccine stance and immigration law have definitely raised significant “what if’s” about the last couple of years.

Hey The Beerus™,

How did you get the “TM” do do that? Copy paste?

I need to keep that going with my Tiny Carlos™ moniker. But right now I have to copy paste from somewhere else - like yours - to make it happen.

Without the doubt the depth and strength of the competition is an all-time low since 2016. Never in the history of tennis that we have so many OLD past prime players in their 30s winning slams left and right while the untalented NextGen who are at their peak and prime career are still figuring out their identity. LOL !

The CIE so weak that it's comparable to the amateur tour in the pre-open era

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way--in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only."

easy default win slams don’t change any rankings in greatness in my opinion . Like why would it make djokovic greater than Nadal or federer because he won an easy mug slam over tsitsipas and krygios

2007-2013 >> one of 2001-2006 or 2014-2019 depending on what you favour >> 2020-2023 is a possibility
