Hi guys. I am searching for a better racket for me. I'm 14 years old and I have a shoulder injury.
I'm looking for a racket that is:
Armfriendly
A bit powerful
Light (<300g)
Not oversized

I already saw some good rackets like the Yonex DR 98 (285g), but it is almost nowhere available.

Some people say the Head Graphene Touch Extreme Lite is great too. What do you think about this stick?

Confort=Angell racquets!
For power,TC100!
For more control TC95 and TC97,18x20!
Prince Phantom and Tour are good choices too...

The donnay formula 100 is very comfortable and comes in a lighter option. The incoming Wilson Clash has a target spec of 295 grams and is apparently quite arm friendly.

I'm looking for a comfortable racket about four ounces or one hundred grams, seem to be like hens teeth though.

The Head Extreme despite its reasonable flex is not that comfortable. Better than a Pure Drive but I wouldn't put it on my list of arm friendly frames.

Lite frames are not very good for arm injuries since they strnsmit more shock to the arm unless you really are hitting in front on the sweet spot every time. Super heavy frames are not that great for shoulder injuries due to the heft when swinging especially on serve.

You'd be best with a mid weight racket with reasonable flex and 100 SQ in. The Wilson Clash Tour would be a good model to consider when available as well as the new Prince Tours with Textreme and Twaron coming soon. As for what's out now, the Yonex VCORE series Or Head Speed Pro 360 might be up your alley and the arm friendliest racket line currently out is the Prince Phantoms.

Pro Kennex Q Tour 300g would be far and away the best racquet for your shoulder. String it low with Tecnifibre X 1 Biphase at about 48 lbs and your shoulder will thank you for it.
Second option I would go Volkl SG V1 or V1 Classic (285g unstrung). It's stiffer than the Q Tour but more powerful.
My third choice would be another Pro Kennex, the KI 5 300 is stiffer than both option 1 or 2, but the technology is the best for your shoulder.

And what about the Prince Tour 100T (2014)?

It doesn't have Textreme, but it is quite flexy (60Ra) and the TW playtesters rated it quite high.

Haven’t played it but probably a very soft hit. I play Volkl and I think the Super G 10-295 would suit you with a plush feel with some built in power even with full poly. Mind you, it’s better (IMO) with a soft frame and go with a hybrid string for more power and string it lower for arm friendliness.

You could also try the Pro Kennex Ki10 290. Light, fast swinging, good power and Kinetic tech to protect the arm.

Have also liked the look of their Ki15 285 as well. 105 square inch head and 27.5” long. Again with kinetic tech so arm protection and a lot of power.

My son has played with the Pro Kennex Q5 295 for 1 season, it was a great racket for him. Good power, arm friendly. He had Tourbite soft 48lbs in the mains and Vstar 17 at 46 lbs in the crosses. He loved it.

We are in the process of moving him to the Yonex AI 98, at 11.5 Oz strung, so that he can get a little more spin. The q5 is relatively tight at 16x20 in the Pro Kennex string pattern. But it was great for him to have to learn greater Precision before he started going for more topspin.

The AI 98 is pretty close to the DR so you might be able to get that second hand as well if you can not find the DR.

I have a couple of Ai98's in 4 1/2 grip if anyone is having a hard time finding one. I don't play with them anymore.

Volkl V1 Classic. 102 sq in, 306g strung, plenty of power and comfort tech that works. PK 5G Kinetic also a good choice as are the discontinued Prince EXO3 Tour and Prince Tour range. I have and play all those frames but recommend the V1 Classic. I had 2 years out from tennis with TE which required surgery so my recommendation comes from a long rehab background.

Prince Textreme Tour 100T, only $120.
Want a better bargain? Get the lighter 100L for $70 and put some weight in the handle.

I Second this. I have the Textreme Tour 100P, but haven’t played with the other versions. I switched to the Phantom series, which is even softer and more comfortable, but they aren’t for everyone. The Tour 100 is a good all around racquet, and the L version coming in at under 300g fits your criteria. And can’t beat the price! If you find you need to add weight as you grow, there is plenty of room to do that.

I found a Yonex Ezone Ai 98 (285g) on internet. It's the older version of the DR 98. What do you guys think about the Ai 98? Is it armfriendly?

Tried the Technifibre Fight XTC 295? It’s a lighter version of a player’s racquet. I’ve found it to be very arm friendly. Currently stringing it with multifilament - NRG or XCel.

Hopefully you have a good go with the Yonex if you get that. I'm a Volkl fan and I recommend a look at their offerings, too.

If you are still mending that shoulder injury now, I wish you a full recovery. Something to consider down the road is a switch or at least some trials/demos with heavier racquet options, especially if you haven't used anything with a little beef to it at this point. A relatively heavy racquet only requires more efficient (earlier) swing preparation compared with a lighter frame that can let us get away with delayed swing setups more often.

If you want power, you'll probably get that from a heavier racquet without swinging as hard as you might need to compared with giving the ball a ride with a lighter frame. I say this because I've used heavier racquets for a long time and they've never hurt me, but lighter ones have. I did it to myself again this past fall when I decided to try some lighter rigs for a little while. The lighter and less powerful frames I tried tricked me into over-swinging to compensate. I've talked with several locals through recent years who have done the same thing - gotten hurt when they switched to something lighter.

Don't do it if your shoulder can't handle it. But if it's only about swinging without rushing the racquet to stay comfortable, you might get more of what you want down the road from swinging something with extra mass that will do a little more work for you.

Last thought: If you need relatively easy power, stay away from poly strings in any racquet you use, at least for now.

Prince Textreme Tour 100 (290) is now available on TW. The twaron seems to up the RA a bit but the general view is that they are still comfortable frames. Personally I'd look more at the 310 as a bit more heft and plow would likely be more arm friendly in the long run.

I would second that. The Textreme Tour 100 (290)'s weight should be manageable for your shoulder, the RA is reasonable and won't hurt your arm, while the specs should provide enough power and spin. Then, as you grow and get stronger, you can easily transition to the 310g version or the 100P.
