As the end approaches, is the one last Djokodal match left?

What will be the use of that last match? If they can meet at qf onwards of slam then I am interested otherwise no interest from me for first round pr second round match

Only tournament where that could happen is RG.
I'm not even sure if both are playing Rome tbh.
Also their matches at RG always came in series 06-07-08, then 12-13-14-15 and
20-21-22.
It'over.

Yeah, let's leave it alone, it ended perfectly ;)

I would love a Djokodal match at Wimbledon more than any other on tour rn. I don't think it will happen because I think Ned will skip Wimbledon, but a man can dream. I don't even care if it's a straight sets blowout.

If they meet on clay I expect Nadal’s level to skyrocket just like it did out of nowhere at RG 22 after he’d mugged around a bit in the previous rounds. Having Djoker across the net will force a level of focus and aggression that we haven’t seen yet this year, he will bleed to get that win imo

Injured Nadal that went up a break in 4th set and was a dropshot away from leading 2-1 in sets?

Think he would sign up for it right away
Injured Novak who started winning the 1st set against Nadal at Wimbledon 2007? Oh yeah, you will not doubt that. Only Djokovic is allowed to be injured against Nadal. Nadal can never be injured against Novak. Double standard at its finest.

Only because a player takes a lead at some point of the match, doesn't mean he isn't injured. You mention Nadal started 2-0 the fourth set, but strategically avoid to mention that after that he won 0 games and was moving like a zombie across the court, totally unable to run. You can make the excuse that "he was gassed", but it doesn't make sense considering the stayed 5 sets on the court at the AO the next year in a much longer match without problem, and this was merely a 4th set match. If Rafa was marely "tired", why did he skip Wimbleodn 2021 and the US Open 2021 after that? Why did he essentially skips all of the remaining 2021 season? He doesn't recover from the tiredness from a specific match and needs to give up on the entire 2021 season bar two matches at Washington? Doesn't make sense.

Nadal was injured with pain foot due to the Müller-Weiss syndrome at RG 2021, just like Novak was injured with blisters in the toe at Wimbledon 2007. Rafa needed cortisone injection in the foot area to play RG 2022. Eventually, in mid-2022 Nadal went for a radiofrequency trestment to inhibit the pain signals in the foot. But I guess Rafa went for the radiofrequency nerve ablation and skipped the rest of Slams of 2021 to fake an injury at RG 2021, right?

Based on the numbers and statistics it was even worse than 2015
There I do argue with you, I give 5 points to the Nadal 2021 version, 3 points to the 2015 version, talking only about his performances at Roland Garros.

Nope. No interest in seeing that with how bad both players have become this year. I would rather remember the rivalry when they were good. If we have to watch tennis it needs to be GOOD tennis. Not old washed up fogie tennis. There is enough bad tennis on tour already with the top 15 guys down. It was good to see it all end 2 years ago while they were both good players

In my view it's fine, the obsession with Djokodal encounters should have come to an end at this point. An absolutely phenomenal rivalry at its best, but has now run its course. I don't mind if they don't meet again and 2022 RG remains the final encounter
Whole bunch of new rivalries at the forefront of the game

I’d still take either of these dudes at RG ‘24 over anyone else in the field in a 1-match bet with my life depending on it.

That’s a pretty big understatement imo. I think he would put the future of humanity on the line to get that win. :D

Lmfao Djok fans want the one more match to happen... and let's be real if it does, it's probably going to have to be at RG.

If Nadal somehow beats him, we'll forever hear about 11 RG encounters...

Never forget, in 2022, Djok fans wanted Rafa in that qf... they wanted it so bad so they could "prove" they were right about the year prior...

They got it and now can't stop complaining about it :-D

Exactly lol, one missed backhand and entirely too close for Ultronians to not be forever pressed :D

There are two slam matches Djok and his fans are very lucky he got away with...

AO12 F - Nadal nails that bh, he very likely goes on to win it
WIM18 SF - Nadal keeps his composure in the 3rd set TB he very likely wins it. Then again, lost his composure when he went for that ridiculous bh approach shot when he had bp deep in the 5th...

Had Nadal come away with victory in both of those it would have been curtains.

They are very lucky he got away with Roland Garros 2021, too, given Nadal was half-crippled.

I believe Djokovic fans would like to see a match on the surface used more than 60% of overall tour that somehow they "missed" each other for the last 11 years...
since beginning of 2014, 13 meetings on clay, 7 on HC. 7-6 on clay (20-15 in sets) ; 0-7 on HC (0-15 in sets)

A lot of those meetings were 2015/16 when Nadal was in his worst form since reaching the top 10... yet he was still good enough to reach Novak in many events...

2017-early 2018 where was Djok? When he was in crap form he was losing to bums, couldn't even reach Nadal and if he did, he would've been beat.

Keep reaching for those cherries, I'm putting you back on ignore.

I can send you some tissues if you wish. But it really hurts that you put me on ignore LOL.
Cherries??? There are no cherries in ZERO sets by co-GOAT in 11 years vs other co-GOAT on the most played surface. It is very simple.
One trick (clay) specialist vs. tennis specialist.

Let's see by the year:
2014 - 3 meetings (2 on clay)
2015 - 4 meetings (2 on clay)
2016 - 3 meetings (1)
2017 - 1 (1)
2018 - 2 (1)
2019 - 2 (1)
2020 - 2 (1)
2021 - 2 (2)
2022 - 1 (1)

your argument is totally irrelevant. in 2014-2016, they met 10 times, half of that on clay, 9-1 ND (4-1 on clay)
2017 - 2018 they met 3 times, two of those on clay, last 4 years they met 7 times, you guessed it right, 5 of those on clay. I guess last year, Novak preferred to meet on clay over other surfaces, or Nadal was in bad shape except a few slams that he peaked, or was it the COVID vaccine excuse or...?

I assume, if they somehow meet in the first or 2nd round of 2024 RG, your argument would be -- "but he (Nadal) was still good enough to reach Novak at the FO24..."?

We should not add Rafole in same sentence.

Keep Rafa fans and Nole fans completely separate. They don't go together post 2022 AO. And never will.
