This forum is full of unbias tennis fans of both sexes so I can't think of a better place for this poll, if you don't mind me saying you seem to be preempting the poll result.

Idiotic might be an overstatement. But I will say I have seen some very hostile/aggressive/misogynist anti-WTA posts in this forum and I would think a lot of WTA fans wouldn't stick around for long, especially if they are women. It does sometimes feel like a no girls allowed treehouse around here...a bunch of guys squawking about how girls are stupid and icky. Not exactly warm and welcoming for the ladies...it's not like it's constant, but sometimes it gets real bad. So, I don't feel this poll would be exactly representative of the general population, but what the hell, why not?

Haha, yeah. Some of the guys here really need to get a GF. They sound like a bunch of frustrated, prepubescent middle-schoolers. But as you said, why not? Making an open poll is the best I can do.

mad because he's right? the forum is filled with biased male fans. most of the threads are variations of calling nadal a cheater whether it's peds or mto's. and i'm a fed fan. the threads about the wta are always about how they get paid too much.

I'm not going to debate issues like prize money because a) I really don't care about it and 2) I'll leave it to the people who make such decisions and are affected by it.
As for the question, I certainly like the ATP much better and prefer it, but that doesn't mean I don't like the WTA. I like it a lot to be honest and watch my share of it. I enjoy watching both quite well. Just prefer the ATP.
I have no bias. I simply find the men's game more entertaining. It is no different to me than comparing tennis as a whole to, say, baseball. I enjoy both, but prefer tennis, ATP or WTA. I would almost certainly watch a decent WTA match over a decent baseball game.

I don't like the WTA right now due to the personalitys of the top players and one dimensional baseline games. I do like a few players like A Rad, Pironkova and Na but I preferred the 80s and 90s eras.
I agree with this. I am not a fan of Serena, so her dominance takes a lot away from the WTA for me personally at the present time. I was always a Venus fan, but never liked Serena. If Serena was gone, or if her level would simply drop to make it more competitive and intriguing, my interest in the WTA would go up. I would still prefer the ATP.
Unless you are a fan of the one dominating, I think as a general rule it makes things less interesting. Just my take on it.

Once they get rid of the habitual chokers and shriekers, I will like WTA as much as ATP. I watch WTA still, since it is tennis at some level.
Serena, Li Na, Aga , Cibulkova and a few others keep it going.

All my friends who are female tennis players say they don't watch women's tennis. Pretty much the people I know who would watch women's tennis are the male friends, and most of them would only watch when attractive players are playing.

I lean ATP because in almost every match I see a "he did not just do that, did he?" shot. I can't think of a single time I had that reaction watching women's tennis.
I do like the WTA and often watch matches, but if it went away I wouldn't miss it...

I think the lack of match drama (provided by back and forth 5 set matches) is partially responsible for the relatively low appeal of the WTA.

ATP can get boring with the same people dominating, so I can see part of the appeal behind the WTA.
I just find that tennis is one of the sports that needs a dominant figure or figures to stay interesting. The ATP has always had that. From Fedal to Sampras and Agassi to Borg-McEnroe and everyone in between.
The WTA was great when you had the Williams, Clijsters, Henin Mauresmo, Davenport etc...., but now it doesn't have that, and I think it hurts the WTA even though you can get a new winner every week.
And they can't serve out sets and matches. And it's ONLY 3 SETS!! Can you imagine if they played best of 5? Terrifying thought. Then I'm angry because I'm waiting for a men's match. I understand their serves will never be men's quality, but seriously, most of them can't even toss the ball in the air without having to catch it at least 15 times in a match, and as such, they DF a LOT. It's actually pretty embarrassing.

To me, the ATP is more entertaining because the quality of tennis is much higher. Also, as a man, even though I am nowhere near as talented as them, I can relate with the male players more.
To me, if the female athlete is not sexy, or if her attire is too drab, then what is the point in even watching? No one today can compare to Kournikova (Ivanovic comes close I guess). I will watch female gymnastics and figure skating, because in those sports the presentation of the female athletes' femininity is on point.

I agree with this. And people who want to discuss WTA can find a much better place than this one.
I like both men and women tennis. Currently, I prefer ATP, but it was not always the same, and I presume it won't stay the same for ever.

I used to know a man like that. But he was not a tennis fan at all. He had never played and he was not interested in tennis at all. He only watched women tennis. I remember that he liked all the players but Mauresmo and Henin.

This is why I like the WTA sometimes too. The Venus vs. Cibulkova match was actually a really good and competitive 3 set match. If more of the WTA was like that with both players giving it their all and playing great, competitive tennis, then I think more people would like it more.
