Baker is everything I love about tennis.

Just classic intransigent flat game aiming in the corners, a big serve, attacks the net when he has a chance, doesn't get too emotional just gets on with bussiness, could produce some beauties in drops shots, slices, lobs...

Same. It would be awesome if he can stay healthy and get into the top 50 or so, to get main draw entry into Majors and 1000s. I really enjoy watching him play.

Hey Simon backers, notice how much better of a player Baker looks like now? He is much better than Simon when he isn't making stupid unforced errors. His shot making is brilliant.

LOL I think the Baker backers outnumber the cheese eating surrender monkeys by like 20-1.

Errors are part of the game, and Simon had about 20 more winners than Baker in the first two sets and twice as many aces so was flat out playing better. If that makes me a cheese eating surrender monkey then fine .

Why the need on some people's part to declare a definitively better player? One of these guys will be the better player today - that's all that matters in tennis, and in sports. I don't think either player, should he lose, would take consolation in being considered the "better" player.

I think Simon will win, but I hate that he will. Such a boring game, and doesn't do anything well (except his movement).

Hoping Baker can keep the magic going, though.

Side note: How on earth is Simon ranked 12 in the world? I don't remember the last time he made a deep run in an important tournament.

When both players play their A game though, there is no comparison between Baker and Simon. Baker is just that much better.

Now everyone sees why Baker was so highly touted when he was younger. His lack of years on the tour is evident by his UE and serve but he can be brilliant.

Wow. What happened in the 4th? It's not like Simon came unglued in the 3rd, he lost a tiebreak after breaking back when Baker was serving for the match. Nothing really suggested a blowout in the fourth set. Let's go BB!

The Baker served up a breadstick.

Baker is somekind of a comeback kid isn't he? In his last tournament, how often does he come back after 1 set down? Really enjoying it!

Did we honestly think Simon would lose to an American??....its just inevitable that Americans will not make deep runs into grand slams anymore. We might catch a QF every once in a while, but that's about our only hope.

Can't believe the hate for Simon. The guy is a great player like it or not. LOL at Baker, he's only effective when he's all gunz blazing, as soon as his level drops the slightest, Simon is billions times the player Baker is right now.

Haters Gonna Hate.

I'll find it a bit sad for him if he loses, but seeing you lose those $500 after bragging about it so much will definately make me smile again

I wipe my butt with $500 dollars and then ill take out another $500 and light it on fire.

The sad part of this is our hope for American tennis rests on a guy who has come out of nowhere.

Regardless of this loss by Baker, great effort and hopefully he can qualify for Wimbledon.
