Canada-Paris - 11 wins, 5 finals

Nadal
Indian Wells-Rome - 22 wins, 11 finals
Canada-Paris - 5 wins, 2 finals

What happens to those numbers if you count from IW to Madrid and then Rome to Paris.

It would change the numbers. That would be an odd way to compare as Rome is obviously a part of the first half of the season.

My thoughts were that you're comparing 5-4 so it might be interesting to see what 4-5 looks like.

I'm aware the numbers would change.

No surprise since we know Nadal ends his year at FO for all practical purposes.

The overall ATP titles also indicates the same :

Federer :
Hard (55–17)
Grass (14–5)
Clay (10–14)
Carpet (2–5)

Nadal :
Hard (16–18 )
Clay (45–7)
Grass (3–3)

Djokovic
Hard (35–12)
Clay (9–7)
Grass (2–3)
