If it is anything like the boost running shoe it will blow the rest of the market out of the water. The boost cushioning does not pack out or break down over time or temperature. Marry that to a barricade sole and you are talking one mean shoe. I think they leave it out of the forefoot because it is too soft and might hinder explosiveness.

It's liable to be expensive and they may be right to leave it out of the forefoot, but that tends to be where shoes breakdown so if you lose compensating longevity then the price is less attractive.

I look forward to trying this shoe, although in my opinion they should have put boost in the forefoot as well... Even just a little to aide the cushioning up front. That is a key area for hard court play.

I see your point, and I also would like to see a full length boost but maybe not for BARRICADE. For me what BARRICADE stands for is mainly durability and stability, and having boost on the forefoot maybe would not help in the stability. Hopefully Adidas is thinking to launch a model with full length boost for next seasons for people who are really looking for cushioning.

Agreed, that is something I hope that adidas will add down the road.............

Good point about compromising the stability, I think the Ubersonic would have been the perfect platform for full-length boost cushion. It's their premier tech, they should use it to separate themselves from other competitors (i.e. Asics gel, Yonex power cushion, and Nike Lunar)..

Really want to try these, but am tempted by the Ubersonic as well. Adidas speed shoes seem to be the most durable to me, and I love the Y3 Roland Garros. Hope the Ubersonic is as good.

Why such the long delay Michelle?
Those are just the dates adidas has picked for launch. Often times the new stuff will launch in Europe before here.

They won't be available in the states until the 31st -- sorry!

Excuse my ignorance but why the particular hype behind this boost stuff? I assume it actually works?
Just cautious after the lunar vapors were meant to be game changing cushioning-wise and frankly deserved a place in the middle of the sea...

It's awesome. Try on a pair of the boost running shoes to get the idea. It's like power cushion x10. It crushes Nike Air, Gel, etc

Cool, will give it a look. Not too squishy though? That was my issue with the lunar stuff- incredibly comfortable but too soft for aggressive movement

Why they couldn't bring some more normal colors in the launch. Is it so difficult for them to produce a white/black version for gods shake. Also look at Asics with their multicolor paintjobs...... Pfffff on tennis shoes these days..... You have to be a carnival to wear them.... It's difficult to match them with my tennis clothes.

Ordered both the red and the green version... hope to have them by Tuesday.

The green/black pic above isn't the Barricade Boost - The Boost version is exactly the opposite colour scheme, predominantly green.

Are you in Europe? If not, what retailer did you order from?

Yonex has had their power cushion for a decade or longer. Wondered how long it would take for another company to implement an engery transfer to the foot.

Once you get them, can you provide us a review and how they compare to the Vapor Tour 9.5s? I am on the fence as to whether to get these or buy more Vapor Tour 9.5s depending on if these have more comfort and make you less fatigue than the Vapor Tour 9.5s.

In general, the B9 is going to be much heavier than the V9.5. The V9.5 is a sleek and quick offering with ADEQUATE cushioning. Now, if you're not worried about weight, chances are you're going to get more for your money out of a B9. The B9 will last longer, be better cushioned, and provide you with traction on multiple surfaces. This is coming from a player who almost exclusively plays in the V9/V9.5. They are my favorite shoe of all time, the fit is unmatched, and that distinguishing characteristic makes them my match shoe of choice

No I can't. I haven't ever tried the Vapor Tour 9.5. The last Nike shoes I used were Ballistec 4.3, and I have boycotted Nike in outrage at them being discontinued and replaced with a far inferior product.

What I can do however, is compare them to my current shoes, the Barricade 8+, Barricade 9, Adizero Feather III, and my current fave the Adizero Ubersonic.

I noticed these don't have support for the Micoach inlay, nor do the normal Barricade 2015's. The only ones that still seem to have it are the Novak special editions. @TW Staff are there going to be new Barricade's that offer this feature ? Or has Adidas given up on Micoach for Tennis ?

I'm interested in checking out the new Boost. A bit disappointed that they are only using the material in the heel area. I find that most current upper level shoes are cushioned well in the heel area, but many lack in the forefoot area. Surely they could use the boost material in the forefoot area without making them 'squishy'.

Good question!

I have an email in to our adidas rep and will let you know what he says once he gets back to me!

First impressions... Look GREAT and so comfortable. The Boost heel is incredibly squishy. Think I will enjoy playing with these.

Weight is 410g (size 10UK), which for such a solid shoe is very impressive.

Weight comparison:
Nike Court Ballistec 4.3 465g
Adidas Barricade 8+ 453g
Adidas Barricade 9 Saksaywaman 425g
Adidas Barricade 9 420g
Adidas Adizero Feather III 378g
Adidas Adizero Ubersonic 368g

Yeah they are really nice. I only got them because I wanted some shoes to match my solar red Barricade Climachill crew! :D

Probably my favourite shoe colour scheme since Nadal's US Open red/grey Ballistec 4.3s.

Is the toebox as narrow as current Barricade ?

It's quite cosy. They actually feel a bit more snug than the regular Barricade 9s, but that might just be because of the heat. When I bought my other 9s it was the middle of winter. The best thing about them is the fact that the heel seems to fit better than any other Barricade EVER.

As for the people who were unhappy that the Boost cushioning wasn't included in the forefoot too, I think when you try them you'll realise and understand why. It feels great in the heel, but if it was in the forefoot too I would definitely feel a disconnect with the court and perhaps lose a bit of confidence.

From adidas:

The new shoes will not have the cavity to put the micoach piece internally. The micoach pieces do come with the clip for the laces and that is how adidas is planning to utilize the micoach going forward.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the heel-only boost setup. To be honest, I was quite concerned with how that would alter the feel and continuity of the shoe. Do you feel lower to the ground in the forefoot? I am wondering how the transitions feel also, from heel to toe. Let us know what you think after logging some hours in them!

Thanks again
