You never know, we might get to see a Nadal-Federer final after all. Federer better win his match because that will more than make up for having to shave my head.

I can't believe Stan fell apart like that after the break.

Sometimes Nadal's opponents frustrate me so much.

yeah, stan is too weak a player. Oh well at least Youzhny will finish Nadal off.

He still has to play Tommy Haas. But bring on Youzhny, just to see your excuses then if he loses to Nadal.

Yes, it was very annoying, a better player, e.g. Youzhny, Berdych, Blake, Federer, etc, would have gotten stronger after that, not weaker.

If only this... If only that... If only Nadal had converted bp against Fed in the 5th set at Wimby Nadal would be holding up the trophy. If only... Whatever dude, what's done is what counts.

Good win for Nadal, 6-4 6-3 over a very good indoors player like Wawrinka. He played very well in the 2nd set. Nalbandian-Federer should be a good match.

Except Federer broke Nadal TWICE after that, so you can't say that at all. If Federer had converted two more of his 17 break points in RG he would be holding the RG trophy too.

Yeah, but since Fed held serve Nadal's morale went down and Fed's confidence went up after avoiding the break. That service hold made both players go in different directions. Fed's mindset was positive and confident while Nadal's was negative and doubtful. Fed rolled after that. Had Nadal broken he would've gotten the momentum to the finish in a similar fashion that Fed had. But what matters is what happened, not what could've happened. Fed won and that's that. Wawrinka lost today and that's it. There's a reason why Nadal is #2 and Wawrinka is #36.

Uhuh, and there were two games in the RG match, one in the 1st set and one in the 3rd, where Federer had 6 b.p. in both. Had he won both of those he would be RG champion, for exactly the same reasons that you just quoted.

blah, blah, stfu moron.

That's all you do, everytime Nadal wins you pop up some dumb accusation (Nadal taking steroids) simply because you don't like him or you just throw excuses all day long. You sound like Serena after a loss, it was never what Nadal did but what the other didn't do. And in the rare case that you don't have an excuse steroids is your next answer. The one who needs to shut up is you. All you do is post in Nadal related threads to bash him. You surely must have a favorite player, go post in there and stop acting the fool.

ninman why do u frustrate yourself following nadal matches all the time and then trying to come up with reasons why he won? (of course it could never be because he played the better tennis)

I'm not coming up with reasons. Stan was playing well, he'd lost 1 point on serve, he broke Nadal and then crumbled, that's what happened.

To a point, only towards trolls like yourself. I mainly post in Nadal related threads and I have to read your constant bashing, excuses and accusations. There's a reason why others have you on their ignore list. You're making federerfanatic seem fun the be with.

i really dont know why u dont take your own advice.

I can't see how you can argue with facts, Stan had lost 1 point on serve until 4-2, then he lost 8 points in succession and six games in succession. It's fairly obvious what happened.

I see, you're obviously just a typical NT, and that's the reason that you're going on my ignore list. In case you don't know what it means NT is Neurotypical and I hate people like you, I prefer to stick with my own kind.

Your own kind being biased irrational Nadal haters? Then please, go ahead, be with them. I would be pleased if I were on your ignore list. That way I don't have to deal with your crazy responses. I hate people like yourself as well, looking for constant excuses and being a sore loser.

so u are suggesting that the pattern should have continued for the whole match and wawrinka should have lost no more than 3 points on serve for the whole match? tennis does not play that way. like the commentators noted, what separates the top players is their ability to maintain their focus for entire matches and tournaments and not just a couple games or one set. JUST GET OVER IT!!!

I'm not denying that he played crap, it's just frustrating to watch, nor have I denied that Nadal played well. You seem to think that me saying his opponent played badly is an attack on Nadal, that is not a logical step.

He won't because he's obsessed with Nadal. Even if he does hate him. Some people prefer to hate a player than like a certain player. I have friends who don't even have a favorite baseball team, they only cheer for the Yankees to lose, nothing else. This guy clearly falls in that category. I never see him praise any certain player, he spends 90% of his time in Nadal threads even though he hates him. I don't get that, if I hate a player I try to stay away from any threads that relate to him.

What are you smoking dude? This has nothing to do with Nadal being the better player and winning a match he was favored to win. Superior intelligence. Lol, thanks for the laugh.

I enjoy tennis, no matter who is playing. The only thing I don't like about Nadal is his attitude. It's much like Jeremy Clarkson, who loves cars, knows all about them, follows all of them, but does he have to like all of them? As I said, you're NT's, you couldn't possibly understand anyway, even if you tried.

Hm, somehow I have the feeling that Robredo might take the Shanghai spot again this year. I hope to be proven wrong, though.
Nadal won in straights and played better in the 2nd from what I heard. Expected result. Wawrinka is just to inconsistent and mentally weak to to beat Nadal. He has a nice game, but that's not enough against a player of Nadal's calibre.

I'm just sick of this guy with his superior intelligence constantly put down, make excuses and accusations of Nadal on a regular basis in his threads. I don't like Fed but you'll rarely see me take up my time in there. I don't need the frustration. But I deal with it enough in Nadal threads with this loser.

Strong performance by Nadal today, very impressive vs a good opponent. Wawrinka was trying to pull the trigger too quickly on many points which hurt him, but much of this was due to Nadal's pressure as well.

Nadal is in another league, some can hang for half a set or a set but to stay with him from beginning to end is a different story. Try explaining that to that cr***head ninman.

Of course, he's at another level (more like 2 levels). You can't expect to convert many BPS against Nadal, because he plays these points so tough. So you have to keep yourself going, not getting dissapointed and going down on yourself after another failed BP.
Wawrinka is not capable of that. He's a player who gets easily frustrated, those type of players Nadal eats for breakfast.

Even being a great Nadal fan, I am still worried about the state of tennis at the moment. I mean where is the new blood? Djokovic is out so is Davydenko. Nadal and Federer seem to be the only people who can really deliver the goods as regards the big tournaments. The only hope seems to be Murray at the moment providing he can last without injury, but the rest seem to come and go without any consitancy.

rafan: I think next year we might see some real competition. I personally, almost always enjoy the Federer-Nadal battles and would not mind if we see a lot of them next year. I hope this rivalry exceeds even Sampras-Agassi or Borg-McEnroe. The '06 Rome final and this year's Wimbledon final were flat out great tennis.

However, if we see some variety in the finals, (and more than Fed-Djokovic, Fed-someone else, or Nadal-someone else) I will be the last one to complain. I think we just might, with Djokovic proving he compete, though perhaps not dominate with the top two, and Gasquet, Murray, Ancic, and Berdych all playing well on different surfaces. Plus, all have wins over Federer and/or Nadal so I don't we have to worry too much about the intimidation factor.

Ancic and Berdych are no threat at all to Federer or Nadal in big events. Djokovic and Murray threatening, possible, Ancic or Berdych hell no. Gasquet? Hard to say, but the guy is a mental flake, so I doubt it.

What you will probably see is the usual:

Australian Open- Federer vs someone not named Nadal in finals, Federer winning
French Open- Nadal vs Federer in finals, Nadal winning
Wimbledon- Federer vs any 1 of Djokovic, Nadal, Gasquet in finals, Federer winning
U.S Open- Federer vs someone not named Nadal in finals, Federer winning

I hope I am wrong on the French Open, and right on the other 3, but if there is a player not named Federer or Nadal winning a slam title next year his name will be Djokovic, Murray, or outside shot Gasquet.

None of those names appearing in a final will be Berdych or Ancic, I gaurantee that much.

I hope Nadal can win this event. It would be great for him to win 2 Masters on hard courts in the same year. He has a good draw and he looked to be playing well today.

I think Youzhny will be crushed mentally by what happened at Wimbledon if they play. Just a hunch.
