The Williams sisters, voted Serena. Their backhand is lethal and can be very dangerous for your health.

Venus Williams. Although you shouldnt post the poll just yet. First ask Eviscator if you are being ignorant or biased to hold the poll without Tamarine Tanasugarn, Martina Sucha, or Laura Granville. :)

For Sharapova it's her major weapon as of late, given how erratic her serving has been. It's good enough to get her deep into majors so there must be something to it.

Davenport's is excellent just from the consistent depth and pace she gets from it, but her directional changing isn't as good as either of the Williams'.

It's a toss up between Serena and Venus for me and I'll go with Serena. Serena can just be a bit more aggressive than Venus off that side and does a bit better putting away weak replies.

This is a good poll though. Davenport, Sharapova, Venus, Serena, are all easily worthy options.

Vaidisova, Ivanovic, Petrova, all have bigger forehands then backhand I think though. Of course that doesnt mean they dont still have punishing backhands, but I think those 3 favor the forehand more.

Venus:) Myskina has a good one, too, but I don´t think Ivanovic and Vaidisova belong in the poll, their backhands suck.

Can't believe Jankovic is not a choice....most commentators would say Jankovic has the best down the line backhand for sure, and probably the best one over all. Serena and Davenport both have good ones, and Seles/Capriati also had good 2 handers.

Kuznetsova's 2-hander is really good.

Her backhand is just like Roddick's, a push so that they can keep in the point and look for a forehand. Anyway, the best 2-hander is Jankovic for sure, but I just want to say that Severine Bremond has the best one-hander (her forehand lets her down though).

IMO, Hingis has the most fluid backhand, albeit not powerful enough to compete with top WTA players today, still a beauty to watch.
