Exactly my thoughts. We are taking them for granted, but honestly, tennis will not be the same without them. I got so used to them that I once considered stop watching tennis when they retire.

Tennis needs these 3 to fall, though. Think about it. The longer they are there, crushing the also-rans, the less likely the start of the run of the next generation of would-be legends. The Big 4 are suffocating the sport. Yes, their numbers look good, their fans are happy. But in the long run this protracted dominance has arrested the development of others.

Yes, now that the variety required to succeed across all of the surfaces has been so narrowed I'm sure we will never see people racking up slams at a never before seen rate. Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Serena, Sharapova, even Henin, and Wawrinka. All these geniuses that win slams on all surfaces just happened to be born within a 7 year period where sperm carried tennis racquets on their way to fertilize the egg.
