Quite possibly. What’s he play with now?

ProKennex Kinetic 7G.

They are my old racquets, he likes them but he is having the same issues with it that I did. It is heavy but whippy and I think at 73 having torn his bicep tendon, he needs more free power.

Yonex EZone 108 seems to be a really good choice, they aren't on this flash sale but at $130/ea that doesn't matter so much.

Yeah those are a bit demanding with the extended length, high swingweight, and almost 12 oz static weight.

Yeah, and not to mention it's so HL that once you do get it moving, you have to be really strong to keep it stable.

And he wonders why he mis-hits so much when hitting against a fast player who is 4.0-4.5 when uninjured

I don't ever remember seeing tennis prices slash across the board like this. What happened? Is it overstock or is the tennis industry really hurting?

Last year demand was high but supply couldn’t keep up due to manufacturing delays. It is possible that demand slowed down when inventory arrived over the last few months. This is a projection as other finished items produced off shore I’ve seen (non tennis related) were cancelled by top retailers
Due to excess inventory and sudden reduced sales.

Not that they are “hurting” but EOY 2020 and 2021 saw a huge increase in retail sales nationwide due to the pandemic beginning to recover. And businesses were trying to figure out how to manage the unorthodox increase in demand and how long this would last, in easier terms. It could be demand rapidly coming back to normal from an 18 month all time high.

But also the manufacturers are charging an all time high for rackets right now too. 265 for an Ezone ? 279 for a babolat vs?

I don’t need more rackets, but the deals were too good to ignore. Picked up the Gravity Tour earlier this week before being sold out and a Phantom Pro 100 18x20. Got two rackets for less than half of the new rackets. What a bargain.

what racket is that? and is it the 18x20 or the 16x18?

16x18 Textreme Tour 290 is what she used to win the French Open from seemingly nowhere.

It's almost as if tennis gear isn't worth as much as brands are asking, because they know most people will stomach the cost and then turn away from tennis because of its cost.

They need to get rid of older model lines and TW being the only US "supplier". It is convenient that these are REALLY good older models.

Is this still what she's using painted like a TF or is she using the TF

Na, I believed she used a stock one when she won the french open and then TF paid a lot of $$$ to sponsor her and put her name on a racquet..it worked. A lot of people bought the TF after but it's good enough that she won a GS with it without being paid to endorse it.

That's also why I'm so conflicted. The 310 looks so tempting but I'm trying to unload my racquets

Haha I have like an entire closet of rackets I need to unload but these prices are so good and it's not really my type of usual racket but for the price why not

Sounds like you guys have been lucky with your US deals, the Europe prices are nothing like that unfortunately. Pure strike VS down to 170EURO :( is that cheap?

Prices changed. Looks like those amazing prices were a mistake, and they accidentally double upped on the 30% off. For example the Tours were listed at $104 plus an additional 30% off in your cart. Now they are $149 plus an additional 30% off, which comes out to $104.

Lol. That's what I get for hesitating. This forum should thank whoever made that mistake and is about to lose their job
