anyone have experience with any of these things to help stay warm when playing on colder days????

the adhesive body warmer seems would be helpful over an elbow/shoulder to keep the muscles warm ona colder day

I've never adhered a warming device on my shoulder or elbow. Seems too bulky to me and might come loose when playing.

I have used thermal arm sleeves for my arm/elbow. I wear them under my other layers for the coldest days and my arm feels great without the restrictive movement of an additional upper layer.

Would some kind of balm like Icy Hot also work, especially in loosing up the shoulder before playing?

Good luck..

Nope, but I generally wear jumpers and make sure I warm up first :) (to the point where I actually warm up)

I'm not sure if these were the exact ones but i know a guy at school who is always buying one off some guy during the cold days for 50 cents. Thought it was a hot tea bag was my first reaction, but he let me hold it and it was pretty awesome.
Not sure if these would be helpful for elbow/shoulder.
I sometimes play tennis in the hills near night, and my left hand becomes frozen since I play with my right hand, always considered buying a pack and whipping it out to unthaw my left hand.
I don't see why not, give it a shot they aren't expensive about 1.50 a pack last i went to a sports store.

Leafitachi... When it gets very cold I use a winter golf glove on my left hand. Keeps it warm, but still supple enough for a good ball toss on serves and has enough feel for my two-handed backhand.

I have never used for elbow or shoulder, but I do have a lot of lower back issues/tightness and you can buy a box which includes a velcro belt type thing so you can pop a couple of those warmers in and wear it around your waist. During the winter months, I'll sometimes wear that during an entire match. You can get them at a drugstore, walmart, etc. I've tried the ones that stick directly to your skin and I think they are crap

I dont have a golf glove, but I only go up to the hills once a week so I just suck it up and throw the ball toss, Its all about the vision without the feel haha :). I one hand backhand so its still a little harder to keep the left from freezing

I'm 26 and i can already tell that it gets harder and takes longer to warm up as the years go by. i only play once or twice a week as it is and I always end up with a little shoulder/forearm soreness for the next day or two after I play. Not sure if there's anything that will help with that. Maybe better conditioning/strength training.

Yes, I use them frequently when I go skiing. Several of my friends use them for winter tennis matches. We get the hand ones and put it in jacket pocket so we can warm up our hands between points. They help a little not a lot.

Temperature in your hands is mainly due to your core temperature. The main thing for me is wicking long underwear & fleece vest. Warms the core without limiting mobility. Zipper on vest is great for regulating temperature if I start sweating. Running tights for legs (not the super tight ones please). And hat with ear flaps if it's REALLY cold.

well i bought some hand warmers and body warmers that had an adhesive to stick on your clothes over the area you want warm
the warmers with the adhesive i put over my hamstring which i just recently strained. it did not last a set before it would not stick. it gave some warmth but not great
the hand warmers were ok to keep in a pocket. again not great

Larry10s - you might want to try the icy/hot patches for a sore muscle. They stick pretty well for me as long as I don't try to reposition them.
