WBA/WBC middleweight champion Saul Canelo Alvarez (52-1-2, 35 KOs) outworked IBF champion Daniel Jacobs (35-3, 29 KOs) in beating him by a less than crowd pleasing 12 round unanimous decision on Saturday night in the main event on DAZN at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The scores were 115-113, 115-113, and 116-112. Boxing News 24 had Canelo winning 116-112.
stay up for it?I quite like Jacobs as well. What I'm expecting is a clear win for Canelo. (even on people like us scorecards.)
BJS looked so slick even after 14 months out.some more or less noteworthy bouts took place last night.
Josh Taylor got it done versus Baranchyk and progresses to the final of the super series.
Billy Joe Saunders made his return, jumping up to the 168 division, and had few problems obtaining the belt.
Joe Joyce got Ustinov out of there in three, but still looks slow and plodding.
Inoue once more lived up to his 'Monster' moniker and did this:
And Wilder once again made his case for having potentially the most explosive punch in the documented era. Right up there.
went onto Tyson Fury's twitter expecting total, unadulterated mayhem. Got surprised:

ye, saw that first, which further amped up my expectations of Fury's smack talk game, which – like his boxing – usually is much more well-rounded than Wilder's.Now check what Wilder said.
yeah, i ****in hate fitness'Go eat some potatoes and some jellos.'
Ruiz 'just wrecked a hundred years of physical fitness'
does match fixing exist in such big matches?
sometimes i only think its all about hype and money.
rematch clause
Know a guy who ran, lifted but still stated, "I got abs of steel under 3 inches of marshmallow creme" Ruiz is in shape, round! Was always a flawed fighter, was only a matter of time.
Andy Ruiz, can fight like f***. But man, get in shape.
thanks for giving me some insights,i watch boxing fights but i really never get to deep in this **** because lack of time. Not in this fight.
The big money is in Joshua winning. He's the biggest cash cow in the division, backed by big cash cows. Now, his stock has gone down. The huge earning potential of a Joshua–Wilder (or Joshua–Fury) fight has taken a hit. The aura of that fight isn't quite the same now compared to if they were both these undefeated monsters.
The lesson here is to make big fights when you can make them. They always want to milk them to the point of ridiculousness: "let them just get one more easy win first, then the demand for the fight will grow even bigger." Well guess what, eventually one of the fighters involved will fok up. I just assumed that this was more likely to be Wilder (and to some extent, he did vs. Fury).
There is an element of fixing involved of course, but tends to be in favor of the cash cows. It's hard to not see Wilder being gifted the draw against Fury as a kind of fix. Likewise, Canelo may never lose another decision, because there's so much involved in him winning.
What happened with Joshua wasn't that he took a dive. After he hurt Ruiz, he got a bit reckless and probably wanted to make a statement to match Wilder's big knockout of Breazeale. Then he got caught with a big shot behind his ear which messed up his equilibrium, and he never really recover from that. Unsteady legs for the rest of the night.
Seasoned fighter, eh?Eddie can learn a thing or 2 from Oscar on the art of marinating. Don't put your man in with a replacement fighter that is doing more than coming for a pay day. This was legit Mexican drama show style baby. Not exactly a Joseph Parker. Messed up big time when so much was at steak. mmmmmmm.
@Vcore89
Looks like Andy Ruiz Jr took the Michael Spinks approach and it worked this time.
