Breaking : Emergency Discussions Taking Place : Novak Djokovic To Be Voted Off The Player Council

Remember, so much of the fake outrage about Djokovic seen in tennis social media has only one end result, and It sure as Hell is not about the coronavirus. Its all about finding any way to have him removed from the sport to clear a path for the aging, failing Federer to win another major. Hey, if he can't beat Djokovic consistently to win majors....ban Djokovic. Their lack of confidence in Federeris telling.

Loooool! The Federer hate creeping into this Lool! A 40 year old making you upset.

Nope. I just point out how a board that is aggressively pro-Federer has a large number of anti-Djokovic posts and threads. The worst of Federer's fans would like nothing better than to see the man who stands in his way / will pass Federer's majors count booted from the sport.

It's always wise to remember that the ATP Player Council is a toothless tiger in the big scheme of things, but players are the most important asset of the tour so they have influence.

I'm not a Djoker fan, but I think it would be great if he said "screw it, I'm out", resigned then went on a tear and completely blocks Nadal from ever winning another slam. As a Fed fan I fully support Djoker. Vamos!!!

If you think I’m wrong you still don’t understand how the meme works

which is even more embarrassing for you if I am in fact older

Hey I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong, looking at how it first originated I find mine to be similar/in line with it originally (The Bush version of the meme).

I still stand firm on memes evolving over time though. Most of the time they stay relevant/funny because they evolve or are tweaked a bit.

I'm not saying I never do them wrong though, but in that instance I find it similar with how they first came up. And I have found many variations of them as well...so perhaps we are both right?

I will admit I do not often use that template, so perhaps the template I followed was incorrect. Which I don't really see the big deal even if it was incorrect. But if it was and being right is that important, I will concede I was wrong if I was.

Edit: I can see where people would think it’s wrong since TTW obviously isn’t responsible for people getting coronavirus either. But that was part of the sarcasm of the meme. Missed the mark it seems. It happens.

Actually in terms of distancing and non physical contact , tennis should be one of the safest sports to action behind closed doors. What Djokoivc (and others too) have proven is that it's risky to put on tournaments with large crowds withiout any social distancing or testing protocols.

I can't see competitive tennis starting this year now. It's been proved beyond reasonable doubt that it's risky, thanks to Djokovic, although I don't think anyone will be thanking him.

wow everyone getting their panties in a bunch because of the adria tour? People do realize that players would get infected when the season resumes right? People are just ******** because it is novak and a non-ATP event
No, people are annoyed because of the sheer lack of consideration on terms of testing and social distancing. Other major sports are adhering to it yet they thought tennis was somehow above all this? Having said all that Novak is not the only one at blame here.

All the players who developed Covid immunity should be released from theirs Coronavirus responsibilities. That means no quarantine, no social distancing, no movement restrictions, no obligations towards the tournament restrictive bubble. It's the only logical and fair thing to do towards the persons who aren't capable of catching this disease and infecting the others. ;)

you are even smarter than I thought

Novak should be forced to step down from the players counsel as he has shown how irresponsible he truly is. Additionally he should face a 1 year suspension from all ATP and ITF events for his reckless behavior.

and spanked by you in public and then obliged to make a harakiri to wash away the shame.

wake up to real life.
He didn't break any law in the countries where events were organized.
He didn't force anyone to go there by pointing a loaded gun or something.

If everyone who makes you a stupid offer should face such consequence, you'd have no buddies / pals.

Grow up, start consider about consequences of your choice and take responsibility, don't push it 100% to a celebrity like Novak. He is not guilty for your choices.

Lost it? He never had it to begin with. That's not said with any snark, it's simply the truth.

I am going to make a thread about it, but I think it will be at a new level now. I think he could be the first GS champ to be booed by a majority of the stadium when hoisting the trophy.

At least at Wimbledon 2019 they were polite although you could obviously tell that the crowd wanted a different result. But this? This is totally different.

Djokovic's main problem is mental/off-court so he will have to ascend to a new level of 'tough' to tune out what's being said about/to him and the reaction of the crowds when we do return to play. It's going to be bad.

True, but he's always been able to tell himself that was because of prejudice or whatever.

If he knows deep down that he bears some responsibility for this mess then that's a different psychology. Also a lot of the social media reaction has been mockery -that can be more bruising to the ego than vitriol.

Legend
Goran Ivanisevic: 'I hope Novak Djokovic loses ATP Player Council presidency'

The ATP Player Council president and world no. 1 Novak Djokovic has had a bumpy ride as the leading figure of this ATP body. After many controversies with Chris Kermode in 2019 and different opinions on money distribution among the lower-ranked players, Novak is under fire again following the latest Adria Tour controversies, suggested by many to step down from the position.

Djokovic is yet to suffer a defeat in the official matches in 2020, leading Serbia towards the inaugural ATP Cup title and lifting the 17th Major crown at the Australian Open. Novak claimed the 79th ATP title in Dubai against Stefanos Tsitsipas, playing his last match before the coronavirus pandemic halted the season since March.

Returning home to Belgrade from Marbella in May, Djokovic made a lot of effort to organize the event in front of the home crowd at Novak Tennis Centre, gathering Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev and Grigor Dimitrov in Belgrade.
With no social distancing measures, the players competed in a football match before stepping on the tennis court and the packed crowd, spending time with kids and even visiting the night club where they danced close to each other.

Last weekend, the Adria Tour moved to Zadar and there were no strict rules there, with players hanging out with kids on the public forum and enjoying a basketball game against the local club. The crowd was there to watch the matches but they didn't get a chance to see the final after Grigor Dimitrov announced on Sunday that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Soon, Borna Coric, Viktor Troicki and Novak Djokovic were confirmed as well, with the entire tennis world blaming Djokovic for not applying more rigorous rules during both weekends. The Serb's coach Goran Ivanisevic is sick of all those stories against world no.

1, hoping he would go down from the ATP Player Council presidency as it brought him nothing useful so far, despite all of his efforts. "It's easy to be a general after the battle and many people couldn't wait for Novak Djokovic's mistake.

He started to create something big after we all had been locked for three months. I can accept that the players probably shouldn't have gone to the Belgrade's nightclub, but no one was forcing them to dance close to each other or take the shirt off.

Still, no one can claim that the pandemic started there. Marco Panichi wasn't at the party; I had spent almost two weeks with him, and his test was positive while mine was negative. That's not easy to explain. Djokovic's physio Miljan Amanovic had worked on Dimitrov's elbow in Zadar, and he is negative as well.

I don't even want to comment Zadar; the city has fewer cases than many others in Croatia. In my opinion, I would love to see Novak Djokovic stepping down from the ATP Player Council presidency. Since he got there, everything he does is wrong.

The attacks come from all over the world and that takes a lot of energy out of him, trying to make the right moves for our sport. "
