It seemed like Fed really stepped it up in the fifth set until 5-3, 40-30. After Novak hit his somewhat lucky return for a winner, Fed SUCKED. He couldn't get serves in. He overhit, he didn't move his feet and he got broke again.
While his frustration over Novak's return is understandable, he needs to focus on his overhitting, poor footwork, inability to get serves in, etc. In all the grand slam matches he's lost over the last two years, he's choked in most of them--including Del Potro in '09, Novak last year, Novak this year, Berdych in 2010 and even a little against Nadal in some of his losses to him.
I think Federer is the greatest player of all time, but he's shown some mental weakness in BIG matches in the later years of his career. That's just the truth. Fed needs to own his choking. Yesterday, he didn't.
