Can Nadal win 1 more Wimbledon?

Nadal lost in 2nd round in 2012 and got eliminated in 1st round in 2013.

Can he win the grass 1 more time before ending his tennis career?

It's not outside the realm of possibility, that's for sure. If somebody last year would have told me Nadal would capture another US Open title, I would have dismissed them and laughed on the spot.

It'll take something special to see a Wimbledon victory, but I wouldn't rule it out just yet. Chances are definitely not, however.

With Murray out and Fed turning old, Nadal has a better chance of winning any major. He owns Ferrer and Berdych. Tsonga could take him out but Tsonga is streaky and might not get to later rounds. I would think majors are up for grabs between Nadal and Djoko in 2014 until Murray heals and gets back up to form. Maybe Tsonga or Del Po or Berdych or a real long shot like Roanic or Janovic sneaks in for 1 major but Nadal and Djoko are the favorites in every tournament. Both are young and in their prime.

Nadal is not the best grass court player but Djoko is his biggest competition and Djoko can flake out at times too. So, yes, Nadal is 2nd favorite to win Wimby which isn't bad odds.

Well, he's taken slow starts to a new level in the last couple of years there, so if he can get past the first few rounds, he might have a chance.

The three or so intelligent posters on this site taught me years ago that Nadal has historically had trouble the first week due to the quickness of the grass--a fact I had never thought of or even considered until the Rosol debacle. So if he can get out of the first week, who knows?

Nadal has got to, got to, come into Wimbledon this year fully motivated. Darcis was the most embarrassing loss of his career, perhaps the only truly embarrassing loss of his career. Rosol was five sets (Nadal would have probably won it if they hadn't stupidly closed the roof), and Rosol has just swiging for the fences. Darcis, well, that was just bad. He's got to want to avenge that.

In other news, Darcis hasn't played since that match. Weird.

Not even close, no way, no how. He's won one match there in two years. To start the tournament, I'd say he's . . . sixth favorite after Nole, Murray, Delpo, Berdych, Fed. If he gets out of the first week, then yes, all bets are off, and he'll get a look at it.

I would even put Tsonga above him as well to be honest.

Nadal just has to get past the first week and the grass will slow down, the back of the baseline will turn to dirt, and he will be in peak form on grass. He owns the matchup against Murray. Djokovic is an inferior grass court player than Murray but he will be Nadal's toughest out. But yeah, Nadal definitely will have chances to snag more Wimbledons.

I don't know how anyone could count out a 2 time Wimbledon champion who is still at his peak from winning there again. I think his last two bad showings come down to poor preparation on grass more than anything else. Nadal should do Halle in 2014 just to get a feel for grass before Wimbledon. With Federer in major decline, and Murray a big if coming off surgery, i think Nadal's chances at the 2014 Wimbledon are as good as anybody's.
