Chip and charge return, more success from deuce court or ad court?

Do you chip and charge the net on 2nd serve mostly from ad court, or from deuce court?

Which side gives you more success? Why?

As a 5.0+ player, personally chip and charge works against my opponent's weak serves or weak groundies...doesn't matter which side of the court.

I only go on duece court chipping straight ahead to my opponent's righty backhand. I don't chip and charge that much against serves unless they are really weak and short though. Instead I crank up the backhand on 2nd serves and rip inside-out down the line to my opponent's backhand. With my forehand I will generally return crosscourt.

really depends on the quality of your returns and approach shots

I'd like to add that also depends on your opponent's weaknesses.
I often play with a friend of mine, whose weakness was his backhand. He never passed me with his backhand in his life.

The last time we played, I was usually chipping and charging against his backhand, and out of nowhere, he was hitting the most sickest topspin lobs i've ever seen out of his backhand. So deep and yet so precise. I couldn't smash it at all, the lobs were TRULY SUPERB.

He did it like 6 or 7 times in a row. Once I decided not to gave up free points like that, I tried c&ch'ing against his forehand, and then BOOM!! 50% of the shots were winners. My volley, or his forehand passing shot.

I didn't know how the f#$& is was going to approach this situation. The solution came after I lost the 2nd set 2-6. Instead of chipping and charging, I decided dropshotting and charging. I cut all the angles for him to lob.

He's not exactly a great runner, so the constant dropshots were my way to go.

Fortunately, a happy ending for me. And a new discovery for him: Marvelous backhand lobs. Gotta check out for this guy again. ;)

I generally do it on a weak serve to my forehand from the ad side. This puts my forehand in the middle of the court, and I can aim my shot either right down to center, or equally easily to either corner.

If I were C&C off a shot to my backhand, it would be a weaker reply (and I'd probably get passed).

If I were to C&C off a shot to my forehand on the Deuce side, my forehand would be on the outside. If I went down-the-line it would be over the higher part of the net, and I'd probably get passed by a cross-court reply. Or, if I sent my return cross-court and tried to take the net, I'd probably get passed down-the-line.
