Cincinnati again this year!

Roll call for Cincinnati? My husband and I will be there all day/evening Tuesday and Wednesday. I can't wait. Last year was a wonderful experience, hoping for more of the same this time around. I love how up close and personal you can get with the players. Last year I was so in awe of seeing a player every time I turned around, I didn't watch many matches all the way through...lots of time watching the practice courts and a set here, a set there. This year I'm hoping to devote more time to actual tennis watching :)

As much as I LOVED this experience last year, I won't be making it out this time. I went to Wimbledon last month and I'm going to the Davis Cup tie in Chicago in September, so there's my tennis-going budget well spent.

I'm hoping to go next year--most of the events on the calendar move back a week, meaning I can't go midweek as that's when the schoolyear starts...but I'm hoping to do qualies weekend and Monday in '15 if possible.

Love the Cincinnati tournament (gone about 10 times) - always hoping for clouds to bring some relief though.

Going to be there Tuesday (day and night). Be my very first pro tournament..

of course as of now there's a 80% chance of storms..freaking figures, be so upset if it gets rained out

Any advice for a first timer?

I'll be there until Friday night! Super excited to go back. I think the thing I am most excited about is seeing Stefan Edberg!

Went for my first day today. Got a couple autographs and pictures with Gulbis and Thiem. Lovin' it so far.

Well I went and it was really fun.
Saw a lot of qualifying matches and came very close to a couple of tennis players.
For example I was walking to see someone on a practice court and I was passed by Michael Youzhny and his coach.
Took a lot of photos. Didn't get autographs though (didn't want to bother the players) :D

When I lived in Indiana I went almost every year, I love this tournament. Too far to travel now.

I went Tuesday, was my first ever tournament. Love it, was there for both day and night (left shortly after the Joker match was over). Pretty windy that day

Great tournament. I went Wednesday all day. This year the weather has been perfect compared to all the other years. Usually it in the 90's+ with very high humidity. This week, so far, 70's and low 80's, nice breeze, and very low humidity. Great matches as well. So good to see the players so close to the fans. I think the players enjoy themselves here at the Cincinnati tournament. I see the players walking around with their family in the evenings after they play. I'm not sure this would happen at the bigger tournaments such as in NYC.
My only complaint, since the huge remodeling, is that the newer courts do not have sufficient seating. Too many flat aluminum slat seating. It makes for a very unpleasant seating session for any length of time. It also makes a lot of people have to stand to see the match since there isn't sufficient seating for them. That has to be a distraction to the players. Just something I've noticed.

My oldest son and I were there on Thursday. Had a great time. I'd highly recommend going. Match of the day that we saw: Fed v. Monfils.

Planning to go this year, 20th, all day (hopefully, all round of 16 matches). Whaddyathink?
The official site and ticketmaster are out of seats close to the court. Is that an issue? Any ticket selling websites? I'd like to have a good experience (if not unforgettable). So I'm willing to spend the extra buck for good seats.
Any advice will be welcome!
Thanx!

I'll be there this year, Friday through sunday.

There really aren't any bad seats, I'd think, the stadium isn't huge. I was not far from the top, still not bad (last year).

The attached grandstand court is a great place to get up close and watch some great doubles (watched Sock/Pospisil v Bryan Bros last year from very close).

Small venue, easy to get around and you don't gouged (too badly) on concessions.

I'll be there mon-wed. It will be my first time seeing pro tennis so I'm excited. Are there any tennis courts in the area to hit? We have tickets Tuesday and Wednesday and I'm going with some fellow players so it would be good to hit.

We got some box seats from the AMEX card holder special they had on their website. Have you tried that yet? Feels free to send me a message if you have question.

I've been to the Cincy tournament only once in 2006. I watched the first match Murray ever played against Fed and he beat him. It was brutally hot and humid. I love the atmosphere of the tournament but I can't take the oppressive humidity. I envy those of you who can take it. The only place I've seen with better access to the top players is Indian Wells... and no humidity there at all.
