In theory seems reasonable to try. I guess someone could go to craft store and get a selection and give it a run. But I imagine its not durable at all. Especially if you hit with topspin.

Get thin twine and make a twine out of strands of twine, so you have a thicker twine made of that twine. Then just coat it in hot wax and call it cotton gut.

I strung up weed whacker string, it's pretty tough to string as its 2mm thick. The knots don't tighten very well. But it has an extreme gear shape, so I should get some spin. I strung it at 40 lbs as a reference tension. I will do one at 50 if I feel like it.
