Lol..it does give me a bit more forgiveness then my TC95s which is a welcome naturally. I will make my decision after playing another 6 matches our so and more hitting/drilling. Besides there is some news on a new Dahcor racquet coming out soon that is essentially my racquet in a 100 head size which would be even more forgiving (8 mains in the throat). My racquet is 65RA

The 65RA is strung? Whats the gripshape like? Not round like prince is it?

A long match this morning! Ended up winning the 3rd set by the closest of margins and had to serve and volley in it a lot. The guy was exposing me fitness wise so had to do anything to shorten points. Dude was super fit and runs anything down like a rabbit. Racquet was pretty good on serve just like last time and really is a very solid volley stick. Lots of help with volleys today. Truly couldn’t find anything to complain about today other than my own shortcomings. Racquet suffered an unpleasant gash in the paint which annoyed the heck out of me. Just accidentally dropped it between points and it must have hit the hard court at the perfect angle. I think one of my angells would have survived the same fall with almost nothing but a smudge. They do have better protection with the wrap around grommets.

No luck finding anyone to hit with today so went out for serve practice. Funny I needed a bit of adjustment time on Angell today I was trying to compare but truly think very even match on serve. Slight difference in targeting with Dahcor being a bit better but I get a little bigger kick serve with the Angell. Next 3 days will be good, singles match in the morning, doubles Monday and singles Tuesday. Hope there is no rain to ruin plans

8 mains vs 6 mains classic example.

It has been such an immersive journey that I felt the gash in the paint as I have done it myself.
I am still holding it in my hand and experiencing self loathing for dropping the racquet  Of course, my luck BZ snapped today mid first set. I am taking to the stringer and this time going with 1.23g BK and dropping tension to 48lbs. I am going for a bit more of a pocketing string bed

One observation I forgot to mention. I did not feel the need to add any weight 3&9 or 2&10. I think stability is fine as is, however i did feel the string bed having a bit of a dead spot upper hoop. This is not uncommon and for the Angell users as an example, they are well aware of it in the TC97. I fixed it exactly the same way with 1g @12. Bam feels pretty darned good now.

I completed the customization questionnaire last week and got my response today.

They recommended the K97S and mentioned 8 mains in the throat, so sounds like you were instrumental in a new product they are starting to recommend now! How cool.

Not sure if I’ll go for it or not, but I am incredibly intrigued.

Yeah, what happened was they were thinking about looking at the string pattern and optimizing. When I came around asked for K97 and was asking about 8 mains in the throat, the owner contacted me and said we could make with 8 mains. And would i be willing to wait for 4 weeks to get my racquet and it would be the first one. I said sure right away and don’t regret my decision. I am on hour 8 or so with the racquet. I switched to an Oehms leather grip and just the 1g @12. Terrific playing frame, I am really enjoying it and the extra precision I get from the 8 mains. After 20 hrs of play I will provide a more thorough review and impressions. I will be getting another frame from Dahcor, it will be another like mine or a 100 head size also with 8 mains and I was told just like my racquet.

This will be the color of the new frame. It will be another 3 to 4 weeks to get it

Heres hoping that by the time the honeymoon period is over and you decide you dont like it you will already have 4, and then you have to unload them cheap because they arent a big name and everybody wants babolats instead, so then i can score one for fifty bucks! Can i have the nice blue one with white inside? It looks cool ;)

TC95 has the most open pattern. The Dahcor mains seem a tiny bit tighter then the TT100P mains but a bit wider on the crosses. I haven’t had a chance to hit the TT100P yet. I probably won’t get to hit that much with it but always a bit curious. My singles matches are getting cancelled. A guy cancelled Friday and then another guy cancelled tomorrow morning since he wants to watch the wimbledon final. At least he has a good excuse. I got to play a doubles match today and have another doubles in the morning to replace my cancelled singles. Really enjoying the racquet and grooving with it, haven’t been able to come up with a complaint so far. It is this combo of slightly crisp power with precision. Serves are causing damage, returns are very solid and maneuverability is excellent. Feel a nice connection with the ball so the racquet does not play muted for comfort.

I am not finding anything to knock the playability of this frame. Big serve with good accuracy, excellent fit for my ground strokes off both sides, excellent return frame and love it on volleys, more forgiving then my TC95s and helps me more scrambling defensively. I have been hitting with BZ 1.25 and I wanna try other strings but don’t want to experiment when I have just one frame and grooving with it. My TC95s are strung with BK 1.28 so tad thicker string and I love it in TC95s. Just don’t want any variables right now with one racquet.

Now that I have played this frame for a while it is perhaps time to give you my thoughts. Spoiler alert, this is now my main playing frame and I have ordered a second. It will still take a while to get it so it’s bit of a challenge playing with one. I will be holding off on a third for now until I can check out by years end the 100. It will also be a 16x19 with 8 mains in the throat and I am told same beam.

As I have mentioned before this frame plays a bit crisp but comfortable. Groundstrokes have nice power and easy spin. You can crank up the power at will and force errors. What is really nice is I feel I have very good control over trajectory and directional control is excellent. I just feel very secure in manipulating my ground strokes from both sides. And defensively it gives more forgiveness.

Serving is great with good power and precision. And I was using TC95s that have awesome serves. I think the edge here is about power level with better precision. I certainly seem to have an easier time carving wide serves with more angle. TC95 seems to have a bigger kick serve but I really wanna try some BK on my Dahcor and think it will help there. The power precision combination though is addictive and fun.

Return of serves is one of my favorite things with this racquet. It is so maneuverable and i find less need to block hot serves and as a minimum guide them back deep. This is one of the areas were launch angle versatile seems so helpful. So returning with decent power and not to much arch resulting in returns that come back pretty quickly. I do feel I am returning more effectively and take time away from the server to adjust to my return. My style of play is more all court so I am not shy moving to the net and picking up 1/2 volleys and volleys. Returns back heavy balls with no fuss and has a direct response with depth. Serve and volley are increasing in my game with this racquet. Just more opportunities of easier points.

I have played a fair amount of matches by now both singles and doubles. I do feel the difference in my game. Mainly a bit more precision and a bit more forgiving hit. It has given some help defensively and that is much appreciated. All the virtues of my TC95 are there in a more crisp package with more forgiveness and a bump in precision.

This frame does remind me of the P17 98 in a good way. I also had added to the P17 a leather grip and bit of weight @12 so very close in overall weight. P17 balance was a bit more HL, however I am not complaining at all as maneuverability is very good. The brassy feel of the P17 is totally absent but playability is the reminder with the easy breezy ground strokes and forgiveness of the string bed. I would just say the Dahcor has more punch on serve then P17 and a more comfortable responsive feel.

Another nice match with this frame today. The guy i played was a bit one dimensional on serve and allowed me to just read his serve and be very aggressive returning. Yes, this racquet is truly good on returns. It is pretty maneuverable and feel with that bit of extra precision just works for me big time. The guy commented after the match that when i hit out, kick on the ball gave him lots of trouble.

Got 1 racquet strung with BK 1.23 @59lbs and the other BK 1.28 @49lbs. Both are playing very nice in a practice session and some doubles earlier this morning. Looking forward to my singles match in the morning. BK plays a bit softer in this frame then BZ. The control is not suffering at all, in fact nicely gauging depth control.

Interestingly I am liking BZ over BK in this racquet. The softer BK somehow translates to a more vague connection. It is certainly interesting how different racquets react sometimes pronouncedly different to the same string. While the frame plays with some very nice control and playability but I think overall it is about as friendly hitting as a TC95 is. I will be going to a more crisp poly with higher control silver 7 tour and going down in tension to 47lbs. Hoping to maintain control and open up string bed a bit.

Have ordered a couple of sticks for my son (14 yo and avid all-court player). both the owner Ricardo and the technician were very affable and professional explaining all the specs and options. It was easy to order (their BYO racquet site is so rich with combinations of materials, formats, colours, motives, etc that one can get easily lost) and to pay. We had some specific requests (name, signature, flags, etc) that they kindly agreed. It is like going to a high end tailor! They have kept us informed (with photos) all along the process. Hope to see them (and ideally play too) very soon.

Do you still use your Dahcor as your main racquet a year later?
