The Englishman has been a fixture on American TV for two decades with three major successes, all of them featuring him as an American. He also played the lead in a bit less successful American TV series (2 seasons) called Life that I missed but really want to see. Great reviews! Anybody watch it?

I first saw him playing Major Richard Winters, leader of Easy Company in the WW2 series Band Of Brothers. This was a tremendous success for young (just age 30 when first released) Lewis.

Lewis followed that up in Homeland for three years, playing the flawed hero/traitor Nicholas Brody. Again, a tremendous success!

Lewis is now in his fifth season playing Wall Street tycoon Bobby Axelrod in Billions, a series I watch religiously and pine for during its offseason like my fixation on NFL football season in and offseason out. What a show and what chops he shows playing the antihero Axe!

Lewis has also branched out to feature films and recently portrayed Steve McQueen in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. He also enjoys returning to his roots on the British stage and on the telly (The Forsyte Saga.

Vote for your favorite and discuss. Give a post and we’ll talk. No big whoop!

He’s like buttah!

Gotta be GySgt Nick Brody.

Carrie: [Carrie and Brody are drunk] Oh, Jesus, we drank too much.
Brody: Yeah, we did.
Carrie: Oh, I hope I don't puke.
Brody: You're gonna puke?
Carrie: No.
Brody: You all right?
Carrie: I'm half Irish.
Brody: The Irish don't puke?;)

Love his 20 second cameo in Once upon a time in Hollywood. It can fit into Billions in my mind. Wags knows that Bobby is very fond of Steve McQueen. Wags then goes on to work his magic and it ends up with Bobby getting the role in Once upon a time.

I'd have to vote for Billions.

Still no mention of Life...I am disappoint.

Background: it was picked up by NBC just prior to the SAG labor conflict so only the first 12 episodes of Season 1 were shot. Then, Season 2 was very well reviewed but ratings were affected by time slot gyrations and the show was dropped before Season 3 in favor of bringing Jay Leno (lower production costs) into prime time, a failed experiment by the idiots running NBC at the time.

Lewis plays a police officer wrongly accused and convicted of a triple murder who is released after doing 12 years behind bars. Instead of taking his large settlement and disappearing, Detective Crews rejoins the LAPD with some uniquely developed attitudes from his time behind bars.
