DAMMIT when will HEWITT get backn in top 10???

Need some COME ON COME ON on tv to get pumped up.

Can't believe he keeps losing to roddick so much lately. B4 his injury he was like 4-1 vs roddick and ALWAYS beat him in slams.

I miss the old hewitt!!!!!!

Mark my words he'll never get back there again. Sorry. Hate to say but he's a player with no weapons against the top players. Except his ability to keep running maybe.:???:

Really don't see that happening. He had a great carrer but I think his time has mostly passed.

He's not nearly as fast as he used to be and just doesn't threaten top players anymore as a result (not that he ever did threaten Federer, but then you could say that about almost everyone back then).

The old Hewitt probably would threaten Roger in his more patchy form. Hewitt was a bit unlucky in that when he challenged Federer, Federer was at his quickest and most confident.

But you are absolutely right, Hewitt still fights hard, but he's a step slower. Just like when Chang lost a couple steps, he's got a real problem. Chang and Hewitt are both more than just the runners they are sometimes labeled as (especially Chang who played the whole court very well and was willing to use any strategy) BUT without their speed, none of the gameplans are quite as effective, given their relative lack of dominating power.

Actually i have a feeling that he played better than Roddick yesterday in Queens, but yet he lost, because probably of his serve, doesn't help that much when you are facing a Roddick's serve in tiebreaks! His backhand is very good, wrong footing Roddick in a few ocassions.

He is way his prime now unfortunately. He is disrespected by many on this forum who forget how good he was in the early part of the decade since they seem him playing the last few years as a shadow of his old self, and since he isnt retired yet he doesnt get the glorifcation and inflation people who have been gone more years get. However his best tennis and best days (the latter a combination of his own best being behind and the field now) are well in the past.

Get real my friend.....this is almost impossible. Take a look at the top 10 today and you'll know why. Try rooting for someone else....it will help with your frustration

it ain't gonna happen

he doesn't go far in Masters and other big tournaments to get his ranking going in the right direction

he doesn't win tournaments even when the best players aren't around

He is getting unlucky with draws. Once he gets lucky with draws again he will easily be back in the top 10.

If you are not in the top 10 there is no such thing as getting lucky in the draw. In fact, if you aren't in the top 4 there is no such thing.

he just lost 7-6 7-6 to Roddick at Queens. A score like that could have gone either way. Not bad at all. Just needs to pull out a few of those big wins.

big wins is what seperates top 10 from top 100 players. if you cant make it happen when it counts youll never see the top 10.
