Davydenko Conquers Munich

Nikolay beat Verker 7-6, 6-3, I believe. I really like Davydenko, and I think he's got great speed and good hands. I wonder if he can continue to impress. I don't think it'll be long until he's into the top 32 in the world. He can also win big on clay reaching the finals of St. Poelten last year, winning Estoril last year, and now winning in Munich.

Yeah he looks a good player.

But thats it though, he is decent but nothing special and keeps his head down.

He seems pretty consistent but I doubt he is GS material imo.

St. Poelten, Estoril, and now Munich don't really count as "winning big," do they? For him it's big, true. An ATP title is very difficult to win, and I agree he can make it into the top 30 - but not much higher than that. Though I could be wrong and he can have a Schuettler or Novak or Nalbandian-like year, I don't see him being a major contender at any Slams.

Yeah, I agree with PCMD.

...also, I wouldn't be overly shocked if he had one brilliant week-long streak and won a single TMS, kinda like Portas or Pavel or Canas. That's possible. No chance at a grand slam though.
