Digital scales - the key to weight loss

Bought some digital scales from K-Mart recently and I've been really loving them!

So much easier to see the effects of eating too much - the numbers are pinpoint accurate and do not lie!

I peaked at 73.0 and my lowest in the morning is 70.5.

I weigh myself three times a day to check I'm not on the slippery slope to a early grave.

Surely you of all people know that electromagnetic radiation has been proven to cause cancer even in small doses which has been hushed up by Big Powerco. :(

My digital scale has made my weight fluxuate a lot.

Yesterday I stepped on the scale and it said 78.3. Then I stepped off and stepped back on a few times in a row:

69.7
74.3
78.9
72.9

Can't believe my weight can change so much within a 30 second period.

Absurd and untrue. Read the instructions on a digital scale and it will tell you that the scale has to be calibrated periodically in order to continue to give accurate readings. Traditional "balance scales" with their counterweights that never vary need no such calibration.

So can you finally answer the age old question;

Which weighs more a pound of gold or a pound of feathers?

Same thing happens with temperature. Use 2 thermometers, you get two readings. Digital thermometer gives a different reading from mercury one. Digital one gives a different reading each time.

I don't like looking at the scales because even when I feel I'm losing weight and everyone comments how svelt I look, the scales tell a different story. Sometimes I guess your body shape might improve but overall weight stays the same. Can this be true?

Love them and still trying to go bellow 100, again (I'm close now at 101.8). Been at 107 a month ago. Kgs.

I tend to weight myself only in the morning before breakfast. 172lbs or 171lbs this morning! I have two scales, it worked out that way since moving. One does body fat and the other is a traditional non electrical scale. Both say the same for weight, with the body fat one reading 11%. I'd like to get that down to 10% before the year is over.

What's better than a digital scale?

Absolutely. Muscle is denser than fat, so you have a certain mass that if it's muscle, it will show on the scale as much higher, even though there's "less" of it.

Body comp is a better measure for things like this. If you weight 210 at 16% BF, then what is the problem? There may be reasons you want to be lower, but "health" isn't one of them.

The key to weight loss is taking selfies of yourself naked 3 times a day especially before and after taking a dump

I was at this hospital recently. The third floor digital scale had me at 56 kilos and the ground floor (first for you) had me at 58 kg.

I suppose this increase in weight as I descend a mere two floors could be attributed to gravity, but I thought the difference would be negligible for such heights and a mass as small as mine.

It's ok to admit you stopped at the all you can eat buffet on the second floor. This is a judgment free zone

Haven’t been in a KMart for over a decade. Maybe two.

Ditto. Probably been to K-Mart only once or twice in the past 3 decades. Only 2 or 3 left in the SF Bay Area. Target has filled the void. It's an improvement over K-Mart but I still miss Mervyn's.
