Djokovic 2009-2010 vs NextGen?

Were they better than ‘09-10 Djokovic (who was embarrassing, retiring left and right, forgetting how to serve, losing to total MUGS in Slams)?

world #3 in ‘09, #4 in ‘10 until USO

His form was generally good until Madrid ‘09, where he blew himself out of form until summer. Had a great indoor run both years but suffered from awful stamina and bad serving yips/shoulder injury in 2010.

He was pretty underwhelming. At best inconsistent, at worst, rather pathetic. let’s call a spade a spade.

However - was any year from a NextGen better than Djokovic during this stretch?

2009 Djokovic would win any of the last 3-4 AOs.
2009-2010 hypothtical non-tired final Djokovic would win USO in 2018/2020/2021, maybe even 2019.

Off chance he gets Wimb 2021 even in that form.

Wins a bunch of M1000 in his 2009 form. (Contender for Miami/clay Masters/Cinci/Shanghai/Paris).

Wins YEC 2020/2021 in his 2009 form, maybe even 2018/2019.

Yeah I would say quite a bit better than any Next Gen.

don't see Djoko 09 winning 2018 YEC vs Z tbh. I mean he was in excellent form before the final in 18. Some credit to Z, lol.
2009 AO Djoko vs 2020 AO thiem would be close.
and he'd probably lose vs 2018 AO fed.

He was playing quite well at YEC 09. I am not saying he is beating Zverev for sure, but if he plays better than he did in the 18 F, there is a chance.

Also bordering another heat-stroke moment, I don't see 2009 Djoker playing worse than 2020 final, however frail he may be perceived in 2009.

Didn't include 2018 Fed. Said last 3-4 meaning he is 100% winning 2019/2021/2022 AO and there is some doubt over 2020 because of Thiem.

ah, yeah, I was thinking 2018-21, since Djoko didn't play in 22.
