Djokovic has now 7 wins against each of the nextgen superstars

Those 4 "superstars" would be fringe level tour players in any other era, grinding out challengers and qualies to break into the main draw.

Am I the only one who thought it strange that Medvedev told Novak when he shook his hand that he strained his adductor muscle as Djokovic mentioned it in his on-court interview? Do tennis players really know anatomy terms so precisely about the differences between adductor and abductor muscles? Wouldn’t it be more common to just say thigh muscle? Seemed a bit rehearsed.

I wonder if the fix was in and Medvedev just made some money for some oligarch or Russian syndicate? He didn’t run for two shots that much at 2-1,3-1 in the TB, tried to shorten the next three points, but then played some long points and ran well without any noticeable wincing or limping? Most people watching could not figure out he was injured at all. Very weird??

they deal with muscle groups on regular basis...so no surprise they know terms by now

Thiem is not next gen but good try.
I was also thinking that Djokovic is 21-10 vs the Little 3 while Nadal has a much better record at 19-6. Nadal struggles a lot less against them even though many fans talk like his body is falling apart completely while Djokovic is in prime physical shape.

Surely they would have a vague idea of muscle names.

Maybe - it just looked very odd when you watched the match. I watched the TB twice now afterwards and the way he runs (slow or no effort on some points, no effect from injury on other points later) is very weird especially as there was no visible or audible signs of an injury on any point. Djokovic seemed totally shocked too when Medvedev stopped and shook his hands.

21-10 isn't it? I think they both struggle against them but Nadal has really escaped some matches against those 3. He seems to win the ones that go down to the wire. At least 2 against Tsitsipas, that 1st match against Zverev in 2016 IW where I think he had match point, and at least two against Medvedev including that epic 5-1 choke from Medvedev. There was also one in Rome against Zverev that he won where he was helped by the rain delay because of how the match was unfolding.

Injuries are not always so apparent.

Regarding the body parts., when you get worked over by a physio daily for 15 years you're going to absorb terminology just like a foreign language.

also clay skew...Zverev owns Rafa on HC almost like Djo in the last few outings

Well good point about Zverev vs Nadal because most of their matches have been on clay, 6/10, while Djokovic has played Zverev on his best surface, hardcourt, in 9/11 matches. Even so, Zverev has still taken it to Nadal on clay.

He also saved match points last year against Shapovalov in Rome.
