Don't all players have to play in DC if they want to participate in the Tokyo Olympics?
Maybe. Don't know the exact rules or if they apply to the new Davis Cup.

Last time he played this competition was back in 2017, in two of Serbia's ties. I really don't know if that already meets the requirements for the Tokyo Olympics or if he has to play this year as well.

Nothing to do with that. Amusing that Hitman liked your pulling of Federer and his fans into this. Hmm...

The thing is you seemed to imply he did something wrong in the video you’ve posted, which is not really the case. Was he supposed to give Djokovic a kiss or something ?

He's rude and not for the first time. He came on court where Novak just finished and didn't come to say hello, which would be basic manners. When Novak greeted him, he gave him a cold handshake with his back turned like he was some nobody. Rest of Nadal team acted much friendlier. It's some dominant display from Nadal or something. Such a weirdo, to say the least.

I think he's just the introvert type. He's shy, especially with players that don't speak spanish.

Fellow Novak fans, can someone please help update on what's going on with Novak's shoulder? Don't think he can play with this kind of shoulder scare in next upcoming rounds. Any info guys?

Not quite sure why you need to bring in Nadal hate into a Djokovic news thread.

I really can't believe that video is an issue. Novak and Nadal are usually very good terms with each other.
Nadal was tying his shoelaces and focussing on his practice. I don't think Novak even noticed.
No arrogance whatsoever. There is just a lot of mutual respect. Nadal has always regarded Djokovic as his hardest opponent and the most talented player he has ever faced.

Disappointed to hear about the injury, I wasn't able to watch the match but I'm glad he finished it in straight sets.
Hope he can recover.

Novak: I will asses the injury with experts and hopefully I can play pain-free in two days. It’s been bothering me couple of weeks - some days it’s more intense, sometimes less. Today was rough and unpredictable. I had to take time to address the injury. It caused hindrance to my game, especially on serve and backhand. I didn’t have this sensation many times in my career, I didn’t know if I would be able to finish the match. -Regarding the problems with shoulder.

Some brutal honesty from Nole in the presser, I am surprised we didn't see more gamesmanship with him downplaying the injury.

I think he will be fine. He also will play opponent without rest. For this he got lucky. If he wins again in 3 sets and plays within himself the injury can go away.

If he gets Lajovic maybe, but his 4th round opponent is Wawrinka who like to feast on ailing Novak.

I think if Djokovic gets past Wawrinka with a decent scoreline, I think he will be good to go all the way.

From Stan it just gets worse - Medvedev, Federer, Nadal. Even if he wasn't injured there are serious obstacles in his draw.
This reminds me of UO 2016, he got lucky there to get to the final at all with his elbow, but Stan was waiting for him.
I think it is safe to say he is gone, Chadalina got her wish. :(

He is not gonna go through 5 matches more playing with pain where his serve and BH is taking a hit. It's not a minor problem. His shoulder is injured.

Djokovic season is in danger and so is his #1 ranking with this turn of event.

I'm not giving up on him.

One match at a time. Time to focus only on Wawrinka for now.

Everything turns upside down. 2016 all over, hope it won't last as much.

It's good to be positive, but it's easier and more real to write him off for the rest of the season.

I am not ready to write him off, he is still the best. Cannot think about Med, Fed and Ned right now. Focus is Stan, if he can hold him off in a good way, considering Stan will hammer that ball, Novak will still be a solid contender in my eyes.

You people are too worried. Relax, as I said I think he will recover. He only said this words in the interview about retirement because he was frustrated. He also will have time when there will be 2 full days of rest in the tournament, I don't know if its between qf and sf or between 4r and qf.

I know Hitman, just hear me out what was I thinking this morning - UO is gone, Nadal will probably win it (that's what I expected even when draws came out), but shocker was he will lose No1 spot.... and then I thought - so what ? He can do everything the same next year and dominate them all. Just as he stays healthy, we will be fine with him.

Are you getting yourself ready for the loss? I can't do that, not yet. I still think he can do it, his movement and mental strength is still there. He needs to stay as efficient as possible, if gets past Stan he will only grow stronger in his belief.

By the way he is still the betting favorite at @2.22. That's some serious betting favorite, the next one is Nadal with almost 4.0 and Federer 8.0. I dont think people will throw their money away so easily, probably the injury is minor.

I am getting ready for not get hurt too much if it happens. Everything he achieves beyond his 3rd round is a plus for me. :)

This is the right time then to bet on Nadal.
