Do You Sell Your Old Racquets Or Keep 'em?

Just curious what you do when you get a new racquet that you really love and you know it's the one. If you have used a racquet for years and loved it, played great with it but moved on to another that is the one racquet that does it all for you do you keep the old one for backup or nostalgic purposes or do you just sell it because the new racquet is so perfect that the old racquet has no use?

I'm just curious what you guys do. It won't affect what I do with my old racquets, I'm not asking you guys to determine what to do but I'm just curious what you guys do. I have a couple of Wilson Jim Couriers that I loved to play with for years but now I'm on to something else and the Couriers I just use to test strings now and then but don't need them. Might keep them though.

I keep my racquets. I may give some of them away at some point. A friend plays with an old model and I have one of them and may just give it to him so that he can keep playing with the same thing.

I have traded racquets with friends when I needed something for my daughter.

I still have my remaining wood racquets which I take out for fun from time to time.

I have some racquets with a lot of mods and I don't think that anyone else would want them.

And I keep around some racquets that I might use, two of them are special racquets for those with arm problems.

I have sold some in the past that I had for a short while and didn't like them. But ones I like like the Adidas Lendl or the Head Arthur Ashe I keep or my early wood racquets that I learned on such as the Spalding Pancho Gonzales my dad used back in the '50s that he gave to me.

I have not given any racquets away yet but my wife's friend and her family have financial problems now and she wants a tennis racquet so I'll give her a Wilson that I have from the '90s. Not the Jim Couriers but another model but I forget the model name right now.

Wow, lol what a loaded question and so relevant to my immediate situation!

I pretty much kept em all, until the household budget cop just recently authorized me to purchase 2 new matched YT Prestige MP's from TW.

$400 bucks.

The HH budget cop has now made me live up to my promise of selling off my unused frames......I am in the process of getting some real beauties up on the big auction site right now as we speak....

(I am also in process of trying to find new hiding spots for my PS 85's, my Kramerstaff 85 and my Max 200g's)

I just put up 2 Prince Equipe 95's and a Hyper hammer 6.3 MP....and have a Super RD tour 95 and a Prince Graphite 640 MP waiting in the wings to have their pics taken and be offered up for sacrifice......

It is seriously, truly painful....making me sick.

She found the pro stock frame in the closet last night. Aren't these worth a lot of money she asked? (I made the mistake of telling her once about black Head butt caps and paint jobs)

I thought I was going to get sick right there but she backed off on that one:oops:

The other stuff has to go.....

Sounds like you should keep them in the office.

The Wilson' 85's and Dunlops are not safe.....(I made the additional mistake of telling her about the St. Vincent mystique)

I might check with my mother, perhaps she will sympathize and I can hide them in her house for now......my office is a cube unfortunately.....won't work.
