Djokovic’s 2018 Wimbledon form didn’t really move me. He was dropping many sets to average players and barely got through Nadal, who for about 7 years did absolutely nothing at Wimbledon. He beat an exhausted and quite frankly not good enough Anderson in the final.
Federer’s 2018 OTOH was pretty pathetic outside of the AO. It was a shock result losing to Anderson but he should’ve had enough to still make it to the final.
2018 not only marked Federer’s final slam but also this particular Wimbledon marked Djokovic’s stunning comeback into the slam winning realm, which he followed up by winning the next two slams and retaining world no. 1 status.
It wouldn’t have been a good final, that’s for sure, but in this made up universe can Federer beat Djokovic and prevent his incredible slam winning run from 2018-present?
