Do you like the new "atp world tour" sign running across the middle of the net?

what do you think about the new plastic signs that go across the net that say "ATP World Tour" in the middle of the net? I'm not a fan, it looks cheesy to me and really annoying to watch. I hope that all small atp tournaments won't have this logo on the net. btw i don't mind the signs by the netpost but i can't stand it on the net itself...

here's a pic:

I saw Sam Querry trying it out on a practice court last year in Cincy. I don't like them, i agree they are very annoying to watch.

really? q ball is one cool guy, i don't think he would mind but I get annoyed with a leaf on the court so these signs in the middle of the net really irk me

I love them. They make me want to watch tennis 10 times more. Very effective ad campaigning. I had no idea I was watching ATP World Tour matches before they cam along. Thank you, ATP.

What is the point of the signage? Is there a rival tennis tour we are likely be confuse this with?

If you want to advertise, I can see a case for advertising seen only on TV, but having it live could be distracting to players.

yeah these new changes i don't like them. As long as they don't put this net up in the grand slams.

Who here also doesn't like the new point system?

They reduce some of the worth of points for semifinal placement in a grand slam (relative to the master series tournaments).

It's distracting, I hate it. Why in the world would they do this? It makes no sense whatsoever. I actually had trouble following the ball on the screen with all that writing.

I noticed but never even thought twice of it, it isnt any worse than the ads they have around the court, to be honest im just happy to be watching live streams for free

i feel it is violating to have ads on the net, i mean the net is sacred, u can't put signs in the middle of it..but the main thing is it would be a lot harder to lets say...return ivo karlovic's serve on a net that has big white letters that say atp world tour than on a net with no letters on it.

I agree that the new ATP net is offensive. It's the opposite of subliminal advertising. It's strictly in your face and burning into your brain for 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours. If they think this is positive advertising, I believe they are very wrong. They are the only corporation producint these tournaments, so the logo on the sides is more than enough. It's not as if we're going to mistake it for a grand slam event or a WTA event. Offensive.

Next year, it will be even worse.
I'll bet you, they'll have advertising in motion just like some fotball (soccer in US) matches.............................!

Just kidding, but who knows??? Somebody is making money. I hate it!!!

Does anyone recall the broadcast where they projected a logo onto the backcourt? (I wish I could remember.) The effect was similar to the superimposed down markers on NFL telecasts.

Anybody know who makes these nets? It looks like the men at the 2011 Indian Wells and Miami events are now playing with a plastic/nylon webbing type net that reminds me of the orange plastic net/fencing you find at construction sites? This new net at these events is definitely NOT the same braided-rope style nets found everywhere else (i.e. Edwards 40L)? Thanks for whatever information you can provide. - Mike, Greenwood, IN

Only when you mention it do I really notice it. Otherwise, you forget about it. Seems like such a small thing to nit-pick about.
