DQ?

My team played a 7.0 mixed match this weekend against a young (under 30) self-rated 3.5 guy that suspiciously could hit serves so hard that I had trouble following them from side-on by the net post on the next court over, and who hit several beautiful defensive ground strokes while sliding on the hard court. I found his Div 2 tennis bio online later.

Dayuuum .... sounds like that is an easy greivance that a captain can put in with the LLC, instant DQ from men's 3.5 ... all the other 3.5s in your area will thank you.

Apparently none of the leaders of Southern section this this is a problem. Can't wait to meet her on the 8.0 mixed courts with a 4.5 guy!

Or in the 7.0 with a 3.5 guy.

The whole situation is exhausting.

ETA All I can google-stalk is that she might have been a varsity softball player several years ago. So apparently, according to my league coordinator, there is nothing I can "grieve" against if she didn't lie on her self rate questions.

Balance has been restored to The Force.

She's a 4.0 on tennis link now! My 8.0 mixed captain's heart is very relieved!

This is the new strategy going around to avoid DQs. Let them self rate low and play up. No strikes calculated, so all is well. Then during combo and mixed, you’re in business.

I've dealt with the people on her team before and this is their jam. They think really far ahead when the plan this stuff. There are two current 4.0s on that team who were computer rated 3.5s last year but made it to Nationals on a 4.0 team and won all their matches there.

If @schmke did have some pull, I'll buy you a drink if you're ever in Southern!!

For some personal reasons I'm really looking forward to 8.0 mixed this season and this has really brightened my summer!

That team and the team full of 4.5 male teaching pros will still be the best in the league, but maybe we'll be in third again!!
