I mean, is it really even a theory any more?Grass is the only field where I really agree with a weak era theory.
Fritz, Tiafoe, Struff, Griekspoor, Berrettini, Hurkacz have a better chance of making the final on grass than anyone on OP’s poll. I wouldn’t bet on Kyrgios making it to two Wimbledon finals in a row especially if he is still injured. The rest of the guys have not shown much on grass.
Grass is a specialist surface - the top ranked players get their points from clay and hard courts where they can play the same style and win. Only a few guys seem to know how to move well on grass anymore which is the biggest issue for most of the top pros.I think you're right, but the names just sound all wrong in a slam final. They have almost no merits between them... But that one spot in the final is wide open.
Totally lol. Hopefully it doesn‘t.This is the kind of thread that likes to get bumped.
More symbolic than Federer beating fkn Cilic for the record 8th title, after losing 2 consecutive finals to Novak? And losing another one afterwards? Don't think so, lol...Maybe this year the final will be a walk over. Would be rather symbolic.
Too bad Cilic is out, for repetition of legendary 2017 final... Hope that at least Novak's draw will be as closely tough as Federers that year...But you know the match wouldn't be competitive. Djokovic would destroy Andy in about 90 minutes. He's playing challenger-level tennis now, it would be another complete dud of a Wimbledon final like they all have been in the last 4 years.
Anyway, the only possible answer of a player who could defeat Novak is Nick, and he isn't in the physical or mental shape to even get into the second week. This edition of Wimbledon is literally like McEnroe coming into Wimbledon in 1984. Everyone knew he was winning that event. Same as this year.
The only compeition Djokovic will face is if he gets food poisoning the night before a match or literally breaks his femur. Even then I would expect him to hobble his way to the trophy with this joke of a field. Zverev or Berrettini would be holding the runners up platter while Djokovic is in traction and being attended to by emergency medical personnel.
I sure hope no troll pops in to scream "Sinner will win this!!!! It's Sinner's event to lose!!! His towering talent is insurmountable," blah blah blah.... Nick is the only viable grass player. Cressy isn't in the discussion, plays lousy on grass despite his serve and volley.
I have already booked in the win for Djoker. There isn’t any good players on grass to challenge. The field is making up the numbers - kyrigios is out of form won’t do much coming back from injury to rusty and not match fit count him out.The lion is still prowling the meadow, so with the greatest of respect to the kids, everyone is getting eaten for a 5th Wimbledon in a row, unless Andy can save the day.
But who will be the final meal this year?
2023.Sinner or Hurkacz. Most probably sinner can even possibly snatch it from Djokovic if he plays his best.
Tennis world always has surprises. Don’t have any foregone conclusions about the winner. If someone told me that Djokovic would RG in 2024 last year, I would not have paid any attention whatsoever. He proved otherwise!
Draw is important since 2019 his draw is easier and cake walk. Specially 2021 and 2022. If he avoids dangerous floaters like Tiafoe,Rune,Korda in week when the court is little faster I don't see him getting beaten to anyone on green clay in 2nd week. I think naturally his only challenger was old Fed and Andy Murray. One is retired another is semi retired. The lion is still prowling the meadow, so with the greatest of respect to the kids, everyone is getting eaten for a 5th Wimbledon in a row, unless Andy can save the day.

Nick got a lottery ticket to Final last year. I don't think that will repeat in futureBut you know the match wouldn't be competitive. Djokovic would destroy Andy in about 90 minutes. Not that funny. He's now ranked 21 which is career high as he's having a great season. I don't think he will make the final but I could see him getting to 2nd week as he's playing well right now.Struff
I'm living in a fairy tale alright. Would take Federer beating Cilic over Djoko beating Berrettini, Shapovalov, Kyrgios and whoever else it was. Oh, and Federer did it without losing a set. Djoko literally could never.More symbolic than Federer beating fkn Cilic for the record 8th title, after losing 2 consecutive finals to Novak? And losing another one afterwards? Don't think so, lol...
Just keep living in fairytale...
That's not a fair match. Murray is a challenger level player now. Playing Novak will only tarnish the h2h and his reputation.I just want Murray v Djokovic at Wimbledon one more time. Only slam they have not played multiple times, there needs to be one more match between them.

Keep reminding everyone that one of Djokovic's Slams was hinging on Federer not serving one ace, because your fave couldn't put up much resistance against a 37- year-old Federer and had to wait for Roger to mentally flail. The circus that 40-15 drama was turned into made some folks confused as to what that final actually showed, and whose tennis quality was superior. Well, go on YouTube, rewatch Djokovic getting schooled like Cilic was at his time, and lol some more.
"I know how he feels"Am I a sadist for wanting Fed to do the commentary while Novak wins #8?
The thread was started by a Djokovic haterThis is the kind of thread that likes to get bumped.
Cillic was the best one of the best grass court player during 2016-18 period. He beat djoker in queens. Had MPs against Fed in 2016.I'm living in a fairy tale alright.
