Ernesto Escobedo’s pro stock frame

So I got Ernesto’s frame and let him signed for me as a gift lol. Some people may heard about him before other may have not. Ernesto used to be the top young generation player of America and reached career high #67 in 2017 when he was only 21. But after that because of injuries he’s ranking drops out of 200. Now he’s back in top 200 at #180 currently. Still young at only 24 years old. Very nice and chill dude and a good friend. Under the paint job is actually a original pure aero plus, with some lead under the bumper and silicon in the handle. String choice is Solinco Hyper G 125. Grip choice is no surprise for a lot of Babolat players, Wilson Pro lol.

Very cool autographed stick, thanks for sharing the picture and the background story! I'm curious to know about Wilson Pro overgrips and if he buys them in bulk himself. Seems he has a Bab stencil so he could strike a deal with Babolat and get the Tour original or the VS overgrip. Even Solinco has that Wonder overgrip which is very similar to Wilson Pro, if he wanted to go that route and get his strings and overgrips from Solinco. Anyway, tbh I like the Wilson Pro myself too lol

He is sponsored by Babolat that’s why he’s getting the pj of the recent Pure Aero but underneath that is actually a original pure aero (I showed the picture of the fake carbon fiber in the throat and no dots pattern of the new cortex). Babolat and Solinco does provides him their grips but he personally prefer the feel of Wilson Pro. That’s actually pretty common on the tour using Wilson pro overgrip when sponsored by other brands. For big tournaments like grandslams Babolat usually provides their finishing tape for players, just to make people think they are using Babolat grips (check Thiem and Tsonga you can see they obviously using tourna grips but have the silver Babolat finishing tapes on). And yes, Ernesto does have to but Wilson pro grips by himself.

NICE! Remember Ernesto making some serious headway a few years ago. I hope he is back in the top 100 soon. I remember he was a smooth mover with a big game.

Weight is 331 strung. Don’t have access to RDC recently cuz the corona virus but feel like around 335 in my hand

@Shaolin even those that used higher swingweights in the past have seemed to dip to between a 335-345 swingweight these days.

That range includes Federer, Serena, Venus, Thiem, Khachanov, Tiafoe, Mattek Sands, Chung, Tsonga, etc.
