Ex KBlade tour owners: what do u use now?

I've been using a kbt for 7 months now. Really love the control and feel...when I'm hitting well, that is. But I do shank the ball a lot and I was thinking that I'm not good enough for the kbt, so I was looking for another racquet with a bigger headsize (bigger sweetspot).

I bought a Dunlop 300 4d tour based on the spectacular review by TW. But I was disappointed that it didn't feel as solid as the kbt. Presently, I'm experimenting with the addition of lead tape to make it more stable. Also bought my son a Dunlop 200 4d, which i like better than the 300 tour but not as much as the kbt.

So I was wondering what racquets have ex kbt users have moved on to, and how do they compare to the kbt. Thanks.

I should add that I was away from the game for about 8 years. Decided to take up tennis again after my son started playing with his friends. My old racquet was a pro kennex 5g which my son has now. I have a SW grip, 2hbh. Rely on topspin and play mostly doubles.

K blade 98? If weight is the issue I'm sure lead tape will make it close to your likings

it was that or the 300t. bought the 300t cause it was better rated and heavier than the kb98. just trying out different lead tape options right now but if someone can suggest something else, then I'm open for suggestions.

did you add lead at 3 and 9 or 10 and 2?

I've heard a lot of people going from kblade tour to 98 and back and forth. I used the 98 for around 3 years..leaded it up in 3&9 and 1030&130, in the throat and grip. I did all this lead to stabilize the racket and push the sweetspot up as I tend to hit higher. After a while, I picked up a BLX Pro Open and been using it ever since. Higher sweetspot, ample power, lots of spin, and very forgiving. Its very stable for a 10.5oz.

Me too. I find it is much easier to hit a 1HBH with the BLX90 compared to the KBT

hmmm...interesting how people recommend a smaller headsize when I'm looking for a bigger sweetspot. They might be on to something and I'll definitely give these midsize sticks a try. thx.

I believe it's because the power is transfered to a smaller area, rather than the larger sweetspot of the larger frames which has to spread out the power to a bigger area, rather than the considerably "compact" sweetspot of the smaller frame.
