Although, actual performance of course is more important than expected performance, it is still impressive that by being Seeded Number 1 at the French Open, Federer has set another record: Most consecutive Grand Slams Seeded Number 1. Previously, the record was held by Sampras (12) from 1996 Australian to 1998 U.S. Open.
Federer would have to be seeded number one at another 11 Grand Slams to also break Sampras' record of most Grand Slam #1 Seeds.
