Let's say Federer wins a slam in 2014. Which one would you love him to win the most?

Personally, I'd like another French Open, preferably beating Nadal in the final. This will finally silence all the trolls who say that Fed got "lucky" in 2009, give him 2 career slams and even further confirm his status as one of the greatest clay courters of all time (yes, I really think that, without Nadal, Federer would have 4-5 FO's)

I would like him to win AO, so that he becomes the only player in the open era and perhaps of all time to win 5 or more times at 3 different majors. If that doesn't make him better than Nadal in the minds of delusional Nadal fans, I don't know what will.

Please explain Federer's failure against broken hip Guga at the French Open in 2004. As I recall, 2004 was supposed to be one of Federer's best years.

Actually that's easy to explain. In 2004, Federer's clay game was nowhere at his peak, he was still working on it. In 2005, he was surprised by Nadal, also made too many errors. In 2006 he choked after winning first set 6-1 and having opportunities to force the 5th set (Rome encounter was still weighing heavily on him), 2007 was a choke (1/17 BPs, still won one set), 2008 he was feeling the after effects of mono and couldn't play his normal clay game (Fed, was net rushing too much, suicide vs Nadal on clay), 2011 was another choke after leading 5-2, having a set point, plus a bit of fatigue after Djokovic epic.

All in all, Federer choked 2006,2007,2011 FO's and was sick in 2008. Only in 2005, he was outplayed.

Wimbledon for GOAT stakes. Nothing in tennis beats another Wimbledon whether he had 10 of them already or not.

French Open for all-round respect stakes amongst tennis players. It would undeniably push him ahead of Muster, Bruguera and Courier on clay who were the three dominant clay players of the 90s.

Why does it have to be the final at FO? Wouldn't you prefer he beat Nadal in Q and cost him more points?

He has 4 choices and all 4 will be record breaking feats:

1) 5 AOs means 5 slams at 3 different slams. Unprecedented stuff.

2) 2 RGs means he's won atleast twice in every slam.

3) 8 Wimb makes him grass court GOAT statistically atleast and Wim is always so special.

4) 6 USO makes him undisputed USO GOAT.

My pick: USO GOAT FTW!

Sounds like any of the 4 slams would be great.

I'd love for him to win one more before retirement.

But then I don't like his fanatics at all. Too much disrespect for Nadal.

So, I won't mind if he does win one more but I think Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Del Potro, and the young guys shoudn't let Fed get away with another slam.

Same here. I like Federer but some of his fans needs to have their head checked. I don't understand worshiping one particular guy. There are many awesome top pros on tour who you can cheer for.

Federer winning a slam would be much more preferable than the 4 players you've listed. Federer plays all court tennis and is entertaining to watch no matter who he faces you are guaranteed to see some magic on court.

All fanatics are the same, I guess. It's good to appreciate your fav player but not cool to hate on the rival player.

I used to think Nadal fans don't hate or disrespect Fed. I'm not sure anymore. Most Djokovic fans on this forum are good. In my experience, it's only some of the Serbian Djokovic fans who are a bit cocky and aggressive and don't show much respect for rival players.

Fed and Nadal are the most popular and famous tennis player today. FeDal fanatics are the worst.

Federer is not a mentally strong player, unfortunately. He showed he had all the skills to outplay Nadal on clay in the past, but always choked in crucial moments. The only time Nadal won convincingly is when Federer was very sick (in 2008 ). The rest of the matches, Federer usually dominated, but got nervous and choked. I don't even hate Nadal, btw, just calling it as I see it.

Fed IMO is very textbook. I prefer a more unorthodox playing style, something not seen before on a tennis court. Rafael Nadal!

Nadal surely introduced a lot of unique aspects to the game. Topspin forehand, topspin forehand and let's not forget topspin forehand. Also, time wasting, weird rituals, arrogant uncle and icy girlfriend.

Compared to Fed's lovely wife and kids, gentlemanly behavior on court, fluent English, unmatched variety and having tons of class overall.

I don't understand how people can hate Fed.

Movement, defense, passing shot, overhead, tweener, banana shot, intensity.

And a cute girlfriend:)

and no swearing on court or raquet abuse or telling the crowd to shut up for cheering rival player, having tons of class on and off court.

I know why Fed fanatics don't like him. The rest of the tennis world like him.

Ps - Graff=GOAT, I like you:) you remind me of another Fed fanatic 10ish, another favorite of mine.
