Federer had best season in tennis history (2006), not Novak.

I liked how you added 'claim' to that post, as if these injury excuses are lies, Safin was very injury prone; You haven't followed either of those players, give up.

You are making an assumption and you are making an *** of yourself as well. I don't know much about the injuries so I can't say from the information that I have as a matter of fact.

I really have not seen much about the injuries of either players. So I really can't speak on the matter, rather just refer to what other people are claiming.

JMac 1984 is NOT better than Fed 2006. In 05, Fed was 2 points away from beating Nalbandian in the Master Cup final. Had he won that match, he would equal JMac 82-3 win/loss record and fans would put Fed 05 > JMac 84. Despite Fed ended 81-4 record, it fall below Fed 04, 07 and obviously 06, so no question his 06 is better than JMac 84.

Also Connors 1974 he missed the FO. Although he did wanted to participate but the fact remains is he didn't play. I don't think it's fair to give him a free pass since other great players are judge for their results on all 4 slams. Perhaps if Connors did play and end up being a runner-up, I have no problem having his 1974 = Fed 2006.

Last 20 years are best ever. Competition is 10 times harder, and winning tournaments is 10 times harder.

Oh, so it was easy back in Laver's time was it? With wooden racquets, those now ancient racquet strings, no sitdowns at the change of ends, no tiebreaks etc.

LOL. Real easy :)

How much did the players make, and why did some have to work a second job as well?

the dummy number 2 player rarely made a semifinal in 2006, then thankfully, nadal replaced him at the tender age of 20.

I'm not sure about the exact costs, but the fact that some of the players had second jobs shows that they needed more money than being a tennis professional could give them in those days.

Yeah, but it's not like only Laver played with wooden racquet, everyone was playing with it. The only difference is that tennis in Serbia for example, didin't exist, and much eastern european countries. It was way way less competition back then.

Then why are you talking about things you have no idea about? Fact: Safin and Hewitt were injury prone (Hewitt in his later years), Safin's career was never really able to get going down to two horrific injuries in 2003 and 2005. These people who 'claim' Hewitt and Safin got injured are correct. Believe me, I'm not making myself look like an ass because I've called you out for being an idiot.

Are you pleased that everybody in this place looks at you as a complete joke?

I think that's his whole reason to exist.

Well the forum made it a month or so without any talk of the best season ever, I guess it's boredom now that the, "djokovic is the best ever" threads have died down, we'll revert back to the best season ever trend.
