Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic in 1st Round Grand Slam Matches

From the 2003 U.S. Open to 2009 U.S. Open, Federer won a record 24 1st round Grand Slam matches in straight sets.

Since the streak was snapped at the 2010 Australian Open, he lost sets in a 1st Round Grand Slam match only once (2010 Wimbledon - two sets to Falla). In other words, Federer is currently on another streak of 13 1st round grand slam matches won in straight sets.

To put Federer's streak in perspective, Nadal's longest was 12, Djokovic's was 11 (active), Sampras' was 9.

weak era...

Fed never lost to Ferrer. Nadal, Nole, Murray all lost to Ferrer at least five times including grand slams.

This disproves weak era. If Fed's era was weaker, Those guys should do better vs Ferrer than Fed, no?

Logic!

I mean Fed owned Davy, Roddick, Ferrer, much more than top 3 today. And , btw, Delpo is now top 4. Fed owned this guy 15 times. A lot more than any of the top 3.

Nadal makes Federer look like Ferrer...

Nadal currently has a streak at Wimbledon. Hopefully it will continue.

I don't believe in weak or strong era. Tennis is still evolving and there are strong players in every era. Some are more dominant than others.

Actually, seems kind of sweet to me to contemplate another potential Nadal beatdown of Fed at the AO
Better to lose to a top ranked player than someone ranked 99 or 100 ! Someone whose only claim to fame in his entire life will be that he once took out a prime Nadal at The Championships.
