Federer to retire

Because of some unexpected stuff in the recent times , Federer indicated that he is going to retire from Tennis. He is awaiting the exact date and other details from TW members so that he can retire on that date.

[before someone opens a thread about federer retiring, i thought i will make it easy for them ]

For sure Federer will retire tennis in embrassment for this loss, hide in a small house on the swiss alps with mirka heidy and his cow,and everyone in TW will live happily ever after.:)
(Except for bluescreen who has a hideous avatar!! )

Whenever federer loses someone invariably pops up this question (should federer retire?)....Since most of the TW members think they know above and beyond what federer knows about tennis, I tried to put in some sarcasm......too bad it didnt come out that way.

Well, at least this one was sort of funny.

I heard he's actually going to start the Swiss operations of Tennis Warehouse and a small and exclusive customization shop called "SW3"

This isnt the first thread at TW where the sarcasm is being unnoticed ;)

What if it gets worse for Roger? This year the clay courters are looking a lot better, perhaps he won't have the oppertunity to win anything until grass.

Nadal came scarey close last year, if Roger is on a down and Nadal on a up?

Only then I would say retire otherwise just wait for ATP to put Canas on other side and enjoy playing against his regulars that are so familuar they are basicly hitting partners

Federer has nothing to worry about. He is human and he is bound to loose some matches. That doesnt mean much in the grand scheme of things.

His game is still good enough to nail 2 out of 3 remaining slams this year.

But what do i know.! a lot of people in this forum know a lot more and probably can advise federer on 'Proper forehand Technique' and should he retire and etc.

Some really advanced ones might even suggest Federer on who he should be dating, why he lost a match because of a T-shirt he wore etc etc.

Come back to this thread if he wraps up a Grand Slam after only Rod Laver has done it. Masters will be nothing then.

do you remember how many losses Pete Sampras had in his Masters?

or come back to this thread if Fed can never win another GS because there's a guy called Canas. lOl

wtf is this thread about.how can a guy on top of his game with a record consecutive weeks at no.1 retire because of a junkie fresh from rehab and a bunch of pessimists on this forum?

Your sarcasm would have been effective had it not been for the fact that we have flogged that horse to death many times over. The likelihood of a thread talking about Federer's retirement was as high as that of the sun rising tomorrow (in the east, no less).

Exactly. Thats the point of the thread to indicate that Federer knows a thing or two more in tennis than a bunch of people in this forum.

Am I the only one who reads? He said he wants to reteire after winning Gold in the 2012 Olympics in London. He said it would be perfect.

Point taken, but I don't like the whole, "junkie fresh from rehab" thing. Come on, man. That's just not accurate and it really is not necessary. Maybe you thought it was funny, though.

i got the joke, tennis monk. but my humor is twisted like that. since you were poking fun at all of us, it stands to reason that the joke would fly over some of our heads, though. but i say, if there must be "retire" threads . . . the only way to justify starting one is to be as sarcastic and over-the-top as possible.
