Haha, I was just thinking the same thing. Something more simple, what definitely help he get more recognition. But i guess its his surname so he can't really do much about it.

I can't deal with his last name. I simply address him as Felix. I suspect that is what he will be called going forward if he continues in this upward trajectory. :)

Good player but worried about the heart issue.
He's been under doctor's care for it since he was a young kid and they apparently found another specialist last year who did some kind of procedure that was supposed to fix the problem. He has been fine through a busy 2019 schedule, especially in the extreme heat and humidity of Rio. Fingers crossed that they found the solution.

If he becomes a big star he’ll be known as Felix. Not many other stars with Felix as a first name so he can own it.

Felix already has a nickname....if you look at older posts on here, "Small Colin" is the clear winner!

Funny, I ran into a doppleganger of Felix today at Busch Gardens, Tampa. I almost wonder if it was him. We were behind a family getting onto a ride and there was a white mother, a guy that looked like Felix, and a sister with slightly less dark skin. She was wearing an ITA shirt and the mom had a US Open tennis cap on. I briefly asked if they were into tennis and she said, “Yes, how do you know?” I said “You are wearing tennis gear.” And she said “Oh, they play in college.” I didn’t have my phone at the time to take a pic or compare family photos (we had put our stuff in a locker) but the resemblance is interesting now I have seen a recent video about him and his family. We chatted a bit about tennis, the USTA Center in Orlando, and that was it. I mean, he should be in Miami and not Tampa right now, right?

I don't expect too much of him this year. I think in two or three years or will be when we see whether he's going to step up and win slams or fall short like the lost Gen.

slightly off topic...

FAA ranked 57th coming into Miami Open....but still needs to qualify. Why didn't he get direct entry to the main draw ?

Players who ranked 50th or below must play qualifications at masters

Not so.

They have to enter the tournament about six weeks ahead of time and it's their ranking at that time that counts. Felix was about 104. It wasn't high enough for Indian Wells direct entry either but they gave him a wild card. Miami could have given him a WC too but they are owned by IMG and they gave all their WCs to clients of IMG. Ahhhh, tennis politics. Ain't it fun.

I hope he wins at least more than 1 slam, he definitely is in the upper echelon or Next geners.
