Finding tournaments

Can anyone give me tips on finding local leagues and/or tournaments. I have recently started playing again after a pretty significant layoff. I'm playing friends and neighbors, and have gotten back to probably a 3.5 - 4.0 level and figure it would be enjoyable to get involved in some competition again. I have registered at the USTA website and have put in a request for information regarding adult leagues in my area. Any other ideas about locating leagues and tournaments. I have seen some postings at the local high school courts where I play, so I'll look there, but any other insight would be greatly appreciated. If anyone is local, I'm in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Thanks in advance.

Really?

Usta.com

Upper right: Find your section.

Brings you to http://www.middlestates.usta.com/home/default.sps

On the left: Adults>Schedule

Brings you to http://tennislink.usta.com/tournaments/schedule/search.aspx

Use the pull down to find Middle States and pick whichever one you fall under. Make sure your USTA registration is for this section.

You can also chose to only view certain NTRP level tournaments and so forth. Enjoy.

If this helped, I would suggest taking the prerequisite for basic web browsing skills 101 ;)

Thanks a lot.. I'm not sure why I didn't find that previously. I'll get in touch with one of the local coordinators.

Check with your local Parks and Rec commission to see if they have leagues or tournaments. Check with other cities in your area as well. Most are open to anyone that wants to play - you don't have to be a resident of the city.

Also, check with any tennis clubs in the area. Some clubs require you to be a member, but some don't.

And, if you know several players you can start your own league.
