Former Fed Fan, New Nadal Fan!

I was a Federer Fan, but now I am changing for Nadal. I was a Sampras fan in the 90's.

I used to root for Federer, but now it is really pathetic to watch him playing Tennis. I believe he should have retired after Wimbledon 2012 victory. Now I feel sorry for him, he just has no balls anymore, specially against Nadal. He is very far of what he used to be.

I declare myself a Nadal fan now. I believe he is going to be the GOAT sooner or later. It is just a matter of time. Novak and Murray are not rivals for him anymore. Novak is just burned out and he does not know how to beat Nadal anymore. Murray is just not good enogh to beat Rafa in any surface. Rafa just has an open field to win USO13, WTF13, and probably A014. By the end of the FO14 he will have 15 slams. He just need 3 more to became the GOAT, and that will be easilly achieve by just winning FO15, FO16 and FO17, althought Nadal might just break the record by AO15. Perhaps Nadal will win a CYGS in 2014. He has no rivals anymore.

I love both fed and rafa...rooting for either is almost like rooting for the Yankees, what is the point.. when they win so often.. but I was always happy to see either win.. and both rarely let me down. I also loved Sampras.. another genius on the court.

I was wrong, but I realized who has the real GOAT. I realized that it does not matter how much talented you are; if you don't have the balls to prove you are the best when your talent is not enough to win, then you simply are not the best.

Perhaps Fed is more talented than Nadal and 90% of the times this was enough to beat everybody. But against Rafa it never wasn't enough. He need something else to beat him, he need courage, strenght, concentration, mental toughness and he never had those qualities when he need them. Fed win almost all his matches because he was a superior player, he was talented. When he faced Nadal, a player who perhaps was not as talented as him, but a player who has the necessary to beat him, he simply couldn't find the way to win.

Nadal is the best because he has the talent of solving the puzzle of how beating the best players even when he wasn't the most talented of the Tour. For me, Nadal is the best because he has the balls of standing against more talented and gifted players and beat them. If he beat the best, he must be the BEST. Nadal is the GOAT.

my godddd , what a gloryhunter , for me the important are not only records or h2h , the most important too is the technique and quality of tennis.

nadal has the most effective tennis perhaps , but not a goat quality of tennis.

federer laver and sampras has the records but a great quality and classical tennis too , nadal not.

nadal in this conditions would has a positive h2h against everygreat , because his kind of tennis is unique and the surfaces suited him , but that not made him better than player like laver sampras or fed.

This is the exact reason I hate most tennis fans, most are just fair weather fans who switch to a new favorite players simply because they win more than the other person they used to like. You shouldn't like someone more because they win or are the better player at the moment, you should watch for enjoyment.

My favorite players are Nishikori, Safin, Gulbis, and Djokovic. And aside from Djokovic none of those guys are models of consistency but I still enjoy watching them because I like the way they play. That is what being a fan of a player means, not following them for their credentials as a champion

Say this crap next time he's injured for nearly a year, or the next time he goes on a long title drought, or when he goes on one of his streaks of being beaten by every low ranked mug on the ATP. Nadal is an oft-injured, streaky player who relies far too much on confidence to get going, while Fed has been the model of consistency for a decade, mopping up slams left and right. Fed is far easier to be a fan of no doubt about it.

No balls? So what do you call his match against Nadal in Cincy then? Federer knows when he's lost before the match is over, it's probably instinct for him now. The ball may have been out that time, but Nadal would keep drilling Federer until he won the next point anyway, so he saved himself a tiny bit of energy for the USO.

Pretty much, yeah. This MichaelNadal guy also imagines Rafita has improved his terrible ways, he started a thread not long ago asking Fed fans if they now approve of Nadal's behavior. So no, we don't. His attitude sucks and still does, he still gets coached, wastes time, and is being a complete jerk.
