Yes it is under threat. But coronavirus is similar to influenzas in that is spreads in the colder months and isn’t so prominent in the warmer months. The spread will die down once we get into May or so. its the only thing that stopped SARS and is the only thing that will stop Covid-19

False... there are known cases in places like Kuwait, the Philippines and Cambodia which are known for warmer temps.

Federer fans: YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!

Yeah, no.

As a Fed fan I think it's cool that Rafa is rewriting the history books on clay forever. What he's doing is nothing short of amazing.

His further clay achievements also dont really do anything about the fact that he cant win indoors at the Tour Finals so Rafa is no threat to overall GOAT anyway.

Nole is the one who will take that crown most likely, unless Fed can somehow muster up another slam or 2.

FO at the moment, likely to be canceled.
In your wet Fed fan dreams. Following your logic, Wimbledon should be cancelled, as the coronavirus has hit the UK as well. 35 confirmed cases so far.

RG won't be cancelled and WB played. Either both are cancelled or none of them is.

They should just shorten the matches.
For example every set to 3 games with TB at 3-3.

Grand Slam achievements > achievements outside Grand Slams. ATP finals are not part of Grand Slam achievements. If a player A has better Grand Slam achievements than player B, then player A is better. Especially if they played in the same era. You can make as many excuses as you want, but that is the reality.

Don't worry, by May we won't be hearing about this virus anymore (most likely). The virus will probably lose in straight sets vs the warmer weather, just like it happened with SARS and not only.

Overall GOAT means being able to win on all surfaces, not just run up the score on one. Make al the excuses you want but that is the reality.

Nadal has won at least 2 Grand Slam on each surface (hard, grass and clay). He has proven to be able to win Grand Slams on all surfaces. Grand Slams are the most relevant tournaments and the number of Grand Slam is considered the most relevant all-time great criterion. Federer and Nadal played in an era where the Grand Slam record was hyped by the press, fans and players themselves as the Holy Grail of tennis. If Federer isn't talented enough to win as many Slams as Nadal, he ain't no GOAT.

Don't be surprised if some big events, like a slam, become TV-only events with the matches going on as scheduled but with no live audience at the venue
That would be very interesting actually. Much more intimate between the two hot males battling it out alone. Nick wont like it very much though

You're right, Federer fans totally want Nadal to win another French Open *biggest eye roll ever*

Exactly...which of Federer or Nadal has won multiple slams on each surface? Here's a hint: it ain't Federer.
So by your very own criteria, Federer can't the GOAT.

It would be kind of funny if Federers legacy and slam record were preserved by..... a virus!

It wouldn't be funny it would be tragic for both pro-Fedr and anti-Fedr fanbases! For pro-Fedr fanbase it would forever put a label on Federer's legacy as the GOAT as it being saved by the mere accident, rather than something he did himself and it would put most of his achievements under scrutiny! For anti-Fedr fanbases it would prevent two great champions from achieving something they worked hard on (and rightfuly earned!) throughout most of their respective careers, just because some stupid accident! In none of those cases - there are winners...trust me! Nobody wants to finish one's career being forever remembered as someone, whose legacy needed to be saved by a virus in order to stay GOAT...
Hey hardcore Federer fans! I am talking to you! You want your idol to stay the undisputed GOAT? Then how about instead of hoping for some outside factors and mere accidents happening to preserve his GOAThood he would have found a way to beat Nole or Rafa in ever case to solidify that statement? He can't? Then he doesn't deserve to be called GOAt over either of them! As simple as that! And begone with your lame age excuses, that is so yesterday! They all played in the same era for well over a decade now - its more than enough time to turn the tables in rivalries (age or not!)! The point is Djokovic and Nadal did, Federer didn't (for the most part...) I swear after listening to some of hardcore Fedr fans posting here one would think Federer became old ever since he got rid of that stupid ponytail back in 2004!...And ever since Nadal started beating him regularly since 2005 he was getting older and older and older...(like if Nadal was getting any younger...) Stop it already! Quit embarassing yourselves!

Doubt hot weather will do anything to the virus as it’s doing just fine in Taiwan and Singapore where the weather ranges from “hot” to “hotter”.
Of course, there is influx of virus coming from outside on and on...
Once you break that, then it will be contained and gone
The life of the virus outside the person/blood/saliva is considerably shorter at higher temps tan at lower (same as influenza virus).
