I am surprised there isn't more talk about this racquet, but I guess it's because it's a "Gamma" racquet and there isn't much talk about Gamma racquets in general?
But the Gamma Rzr 105 got very high praise from the TW playtesters (http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Reviews/GR105/GR105Review.html) and would be a great choice for lots of 3.5-4.0 players.
At the moment I prefer the Blade 104, but the Rzr 105 but be a better choice if you want something similar but slightly more forgiving. It's also got very good plow and respectable swingweight stock, for a oversize racquet. Its also light enough where a little lead tape here and there would easily bring it up to around 330 swingweight.
The Rzr 105 is oversized, but it's only slight so at 105. It doesn't "look" that much bigger than 100s. The power level is decent, but not quite at Pure Drive levels. I think that the open patter + the 105 headsize calls for a copoly in the mains, but it probably would do OK with any string setup.
The stiffness is slightly high (67 I think?) but it doesn't feel harsh to me at all...just "firm". There isn't much flex on contact, but it doesn't feel "boardy" either....kind of similar to the Blade 104 in that respect.
Anyway, I highly recommend checking this one out if you are a 3.5-4.5 player who likes an "all round" slightly oversized frame that can be used for almost any playstyle. It has nice touch for a sem-stiff powerful frame and provides lots of help to your game, but you still need to bring your game along too.
I would love to hear from anyone who had tried it or who is currently using it. It's really a hidden gem.
