How many tablets a day do you have to take? Some brands are 2, some as many as 6 :(

I took 4 a day for the 1st week to get a quicker effect. Now.. 2 tablets a day..

I read a bunch of the feedback and many did that. My Ortho doctor also advised me to do it. He like the USP label...:) AS did I..

Since it is USP tested... you should be getting the correct dose. Min fillers. I found this item reading a Consumer Report.. they tested all the leading brands. This won!

Not sure what Kirkland brand sources are thinking when their glucosamine is HCl base instead of sulfate while opting for sulfate base for the chondroitin...probably to keep price down.

Sulfate base for both is the proven way to go and the gold standard brand is Procaps Laboratories. At age 58, I was buying whatever brand Walgreens offered on special pricing, all of them HCl base, and had limited success in dealing with knee pain. I took a chance on the more expensive Procaps and had amazingly better results within 60 days. By 120 days, combined with significant low-impact (biking) exercise, I was ready to wean myself from any supplements. After six months from when I switched to all-sulfate, I took my last Procaps capsules and I’m happy to say I haven’t had the need for GluChon supplements now for 8 years.

Just bought this, going to try it for toe joint. I will probably drop the turmeric for a month and just take this and check results. Jeeze ... suckers are horse pill size.

The pills I got are also horse size.. they are coated and go down easily. I was scared when I read the reviews.. no issues here.

He also said Glucosamine is no better than placebo for knee pain!
Tried the Costco Kirkland for 3 months with no improvement.

The ones my orthro wanted me to take... did not work at all. 3 times the price. These so far are working.

I will give the Procaps a try if these fail.. :)

It works for some, not for others.

I have yet to find a glucosamine formula that works for me, but I know some people who swear by it whenever thet have joint issues, and they are extremely skeptical people, too.

The results seem to vary quite a bit. I know folks give them to their dogs and they seem to find relief. I have had mixed results also.. from brand to brand.

I've been taking this brand every day for about 20 years since I've read studies back then saying it could help with OA and such. That was back in my 20s, didn't have an pain related to OA, just figured it couldn't hurt to add some building blocks and maybe it could save me some issues down the road.

Never had any side effects. Even if it winds up not doing anything, well, whatever, I have a job, and it's not like these things are breaking the bank.

And now Ollinger says it might help with the heart! Woot! Even though my family has no history of heart disease. :)

If you are older and have a tendency for higher eye pressure (i.e. glaucoma suspect/glaucoma), you may want to avoid glucosamine. This can raise eye pressure.

From Eye, 2016. In conclusion, based on the results of this study, glucosamine causes statistically significant rise in IOP, which is more pronounced in elderly patients. Clinical implication of this finding in glaucoma patients needs further evaluation in larger studies with longer follow-up and in more relevant population.

I heard it causes hairloss. if you don't mind hair loss ,, take them

If that is ear, nose and back hair ... another x in the pro column. 8-B(y)

I have switched to taking 1 gluc/chon rather than 2, and added one 500 mg turmeric back. I didn’t want glauc eye, and Chihuahua wouldn’t sit with me because of the farting.
