golfer's elbow then tennis elbow...recovery

So a week ago a had a bit of golfer's elbow (i think from my serve) from playing a few days in a row, took a weekend off and looked at my serve and forehand mechanics, and after the weekend, the problem was gone and hasnt returned. This week, I played a few days in a row and now i think im having slight tennis elbow soreness, im guessing from my 1hbh (which doesnt make sense because my elbow is locked when i hit it), I'm going to take the weekend off and see if it goes away. the pain isnt bad, its just sore. the question is...if i rest until the pain goes away, will my elbow become stronger each time after the rest?

The muscles that attaches to the lateral epicondyles don't move your elbow, they move your wrist... having a locked elbow doesn't prevent you from having lateral epicondylitis... even having a locked wrist doesn't prevent this because when you hit your 1 handed backhand, the amount of effort your wrist extensors exert to keep your wrist steady is proportional to the amount of abuse they are taking... wrist extension during a shot could add to the abuse too... overflexing of the wrist could contribute also...

as for your question, no... because the primary muscles that move the elbow do not attach to the lateral epicondyle... but if you're asking if the affected muscles get stronger... they could get stronger because they are getting stressed, but recurrence of the same condition is more likely... the smarter thing to do is to exercise the muscles of the wrist after recovery, do both strengthening and stretching...
