Googling your name

I was Googling my name about a month ago, I wanted to check if a press release with my name on it was indexed already.

I came across my name on a government list of "Unclaimed Fund", the only information I got on the phone was that the amount is over $25 (which is the minimum to be on the list) and that it was from American Express.

After sending them a form with my info, I got a check for $49.95

Not a bad deal for looking Googling my name....

According to my googled name I'm a freelance photographer in the middle east. Even the exact spelling. Scary.

Yeah, my search brings up everybody with my name but me. I don't mind that though.

Tennis related stuff. Oddly, of a match I played and lost 0 & 0 back in '03...it was a hot day. I was ill. Good thing they didn't list the age of the opponents. He's 22 now, I may have been 22 at the time, younger or older. It was a long time ago, I can't quite remember

i get a small time film star making a debut, some dude in the Dept of Physics, some chap hosting an exhibilition of ceramics, and a bunch of other chaps with no life but to put up web pages about themselves.

The quote in my signature is true, if someone didn't say it then it would be not true. The quote has nothing to do with bees anyway.

I like to do it every once and a while as I have a very unique name (I'm the only one who ever comes up). It it all stuff I know about though...lots of work stuff and tennis and running results.

One thing I've realized about google, if you look for someone today and don't find much, try again tomorrow, or later and suddenly a bunch of info comes up. It's almost as if they keep looking after you give up.
