I love the crispness and playability of this string but would like more power. Any string with this real crisp feel that has more power? Likely a multi but I haven’t found a real crisp multi. TIA
Gosen OG Sheep Micro is too firm, clunky feeling, and low-powered for me - similar impressions with Prince SG w/Duraflex and maybe Tecnifibre - but I use syn. gut all the time in my own frames.
I like Prince Original SG, Volkl Classic, and I currently have a couple reels of Babolat 16 ga. in service - looking forward to trying Babolat 17 ga. in the next few weeks. I'll also be trying Head's SG, too. My all-time favorite SG is from Kirschbaum, but that hasn't been widely available lately.
I don't really adjust my tensions to get a different sort of performance with my strings. I just set the tension to where it feels right. That being said, my strings can feel very NOT right when I need to play outdoors in the cold with the high school team I coach. In those conditions, I'll usually drop tension by about 5 lbs. in at least one of my racquets to get some feel back.
I'm not a big fan of multis and I only keep a reel of Prince Premier Control 16 on hand for when somebody asks me for a multi string job. This string is a good chunk more affordable than some of the premium multis around and it also seems to do a better than average job of sustaining its tension. If you do some trials with a multifiber, I'd recommend this one, but a couple of the moderately soft syn. guts are probably the easiest first step if you need a little extra liveliness compared with the Gosen.
