Again, I don't think Lendl ever featured in Grigor's plans. His USO performance was that of a listless player. He played without a plan or much belief.
He just need an advisor. His team is pretty much okay for now. Look what Jimbo did for Bouchard. Maybe Pete could help him a little here and there. Mental is not where he's at right now. All the other characteristics he has but not mentality.Again, I don't think Lendl ever featured in Grigor's plans. His USO performance was that of a listless player. And tactics...... His choice of tactics and plays is random at best and rather terrible. He just need an advisor. His team is pretty much okay for now. Look what Jimbo did for Bouchard. True, if he does decides Pete to help him out. I think Pete could add S&V in his arsenal, Grigor does has some nice hands at the net. He just don't play up there often, only when he needs to/approach shot, coming to the net to finish. Also his serve is really inconsistent, Pete could also help him out more oomf on his second serve. And tactics...... His choice of tactics and plays is random at best and rather terrible.

I hope things get better for Dimitrov, I don't want to see him get lost in a sea of mental anguish in which so many vastly talented players over the years have been swimming in.
That's what Pete is interested in. There was an artical back in March where the media asked if he would consider coaching like the other legends. He said not coaching but maybe help. He picked out Grigor as a player he would like to work with. He said coaching is a big commitment, but maybe shed alittle light on the game. He said Grigor has raw talent, hits well and has a good future. He is the real deal. I know the artical was back in March, but I'm sure Pete is still up for it. In another artical, he also said he'll would like help any player out, as long as they are in L.A. It's basically where Pete lives. Is that something he's even considering?
Funny how we're talking about Pete (in a good way) like he is Obi Wan Kenobi, but he's not all that old I have tremendous respect for him and how he's keeping to himself as much as he can. That's what Pete is interested in. Haha when do we ever talk about Pete in a bad way? Only when people mention that he's boring, don't show much energy, doesn't engage with the crowd, etc. Yeah I seem to agree with the people, but at times he does engage the crowd when he's pumped up. He does mostly the talking with his racquet. So Pete is a Jedi master and Grigor is his Padiwan? I'd love for that to happen, you bet!Haha when do we ever talk about Pete in a bad way? Now only if we could get it to him. Tell Grigor he need's Pete's guidance and aspect of the game. If he does talk to Pete into helping him then next year we might see Grigor do damage at Wimbledon & US Open.I can see a lot of potential in a Grigor-Pete coaching relationship.
When I watch him play, he seems trying to figure out what to do next while playing. He doesn't plan ahead I should say. If he doesn't take the ball early and dictate play then he goes into defense mode, or controlled aggression to get the momentum going but it usually falls down from there.I think he is confused, whether he should go for an all out attack, or controlled aggression or play defensively. Indecisiveness is costing him more.
This is the key which he has to figure out if he wants to propel himself to a higher level. A good coach can teach him how to handle this, but at any cost he must refrain himself from ball bashing and solely relying on his athletic abilities. When I watch him play, he seems trying to figure out what to do next while playing. Unless Grigor wants tips on growing fuller eyebrows, he doesn't need Boring Pete's advice.
Wrist injury from what I have seen. Maybe caused by the excessive celebration upon winning this pointOut of Shanghai, possibly due to some kind of injury.
10 years later silencing the haters and doubters! Turn back time baby fed!! Vamos!RJ, could not agree more. The label "baby Fed" was not just because a lot of his stroke look like Feds. He has to play the same kind of attacking tennis to win, and that means guarding the baseline, like Fed. If does not do this, he is not going to make it to the top.
He's 23 and 11th in the world. Time is running out for him.
