Hard Court Color ... do you have a preference?

From a visual comfort perspective I prefer darker shades of blue; they contrast well against the ball and minimise glare. Unfortunately darker courts come with the significant disadvantage of being incredibly hot to play on.
As a result I tend to prefer the lighter brown and green courts. They look a bit dated but the radiant heat seems much lower.
In general I don’t like playing on hardcourt.

I like blue courts the best too. All other colors seem outdated and are usually seen in older facilities.

That's what the hard courts at our club are. Purple with green surround. They look good.
As a player I like the blue court / green surround like you.
As a spectator (on TV) I really like the all black court as used by Laver Cup.
I like the USO blue/green combo. the older green/green makes it harder to make good line calls esp when the ball is fast/flat. the green/red is ok too. I like black courts bc when clean, the ball leaves an easily discernable mark.

When I was in high school, our courts were a single color of dark red that looked like clay to me, just like this:
I always imagined that I was playing at Roland Garros in my HS matches.
Later in life, I belonged to a tennis club that had this dark red surrounded by lighter red color scheme, which I liked:
I suppose it just evokes nostalgic memories of my early days of playing, but it seems like the darker red combos are my preference. They are kind of rare, but that is what I would choose if I was building my own private court.

Ditto. Before moving south, I coached at a college with purple courts; after moving the nearby college where I often play also has purple courts. I prefer purple to blue, and definitely more than green.

I do love the court colors in Atlanta when they had that exo. The inner court were blue and the outer court were peach. I don’t like the traditional blue/green combo, I see it everywhere. When I started playing many years ago, the courts were reddish brown on the outer court and the inner court were a tart green but darker.

Blue or purple with green surround for me. Or if I want nostalgia, unpainted asphalt with cracks and weeds growing through them.
I suppose I'd rather play on those colored courts than to watch them on tv.

Blue is a great colour. Very easy on the eye and good for seeing line calls
I hate purple. The courts at our old club we're resurfaced with purple, yellow and white. Looked like a Minnesota Vikings court. It was pretty ugly

Red clay is one of the worst colours for ball visibility - on account of orange and yellow being next to each other on the colour wheel.
If you’ve got red-green colour blindness it’s even worse.
Interesting. Must be my eyes. I would call tennis balls green more than yellow, and the green on red sure pops for me.

I'm not sure why really. Maybe because I grew playing on green with red surround. Just seemed off. I think our opponents were mixed up as well. I think they were use to calling a ball out if it landed in the red. Some really bad calls out there last weekend.

Green/surrounded by red. Hard to come by. Seems most parks are doing blue surrounded by green. I think a few years ago ATP/WTA decided it was easier to see the ball with that backdrop hence the change. Anyone know what year US Open and Aussie Open changed? Hard to fathom all that green.
